Sorry doobs.  Np venting. :)

I think 3 of my guys had to auger and reup because all they could see was dots. I think most everyone in the MAW had to also. When my 3 came back only 2 of the 3 could see icons. Sarge never saw anything but dots.

Have flown in the CT with this terrain, but did not realize what a problem it was. I only experienced it once. I will e-mail HTC about it and see if anything can be done between now and next Friday.

Seems like alot, maybe most of us had a problem with the "dot bug". The question now is what do we do with this frame? Toss it out, do it again or use it even though we know the results will be skewed and not truly accurate.

I believe this 'dot bug' happens if you come direct to the SEA from another arena; I don't think its related to any particular terrain.  To avoid the problem, exit AH completely and log back in before entering the SEA.  I have started including this advice in the MOTD for any events I setup/host now as reports indicate that it does work.  :)

Hmm.  I've been playing the FSO for about 3 months now, and I have ALWAYS gone straight from the MA to the SEA without a problem.  Until last night...

It was the first time I have experienced any problem in the SEA and the first time I have heard of such a massive, multiple player malfunction.  I just don't see it as being a bug caused by moving directly to the SEA from another arena.

This is a known bug on the Finn/Russ map. Its a pain in the butt each time we run it and we have yet to track down why it happens on this map.

Last night though we had some that did that and it did not help.  The 3 in my squad had gone directly to the SEA (I think).

I will talk to 68KO and see what he wants to do.  I don't know how many had problems with this, but sounds like a good 1/3 of the players from what I gather.

DOW had three out of 8 that had to relog due to this issue as well.  I exited AH completely and did not have the problem, not sure whether the three went direct or not.

The Damned had at least 4/5 with this problem. I was killed by an unseen tank. Could hear him firing at me, but never could find him. Its quite frustrating fighting an invisable enemy.

56th had 3 that had to completely exit AH and come back (1 had to exit twice).  Most of us didn't get airborn until launch + 10 minutes or so.

Nightmares lost more than 1/2 its 18 planes to the bug.

We had defense of V51 responsibility...

Ruskies had a good plan with High LA5's and Low IL2s.

But since we were so low in strength.. we didnt have enough guys at 51 due to the delays of logging/relogging... cirlcing for late starters etc....

I'd say the frame was a bust.

After reviewing my films (and they show all), I was surprised at how close my enemies were when they killed me.

As bad as my SA is, I most certainly would have caught a glimpse of them as they killed me, but alas, I saw none.

The only time that I had an issue with the mysterious dot of doom  was in the DA.  Ant one else have that happen?  I was flying with a squadie and we could not even see eachother's icon?
