Ya know, I was just thinking about this after reading these posts.  Lattely, it has all been about stoping the fight or how to not fight.  Last night I got vulched on furball island.  It has migrated to the DA of all places also.:lol

Yeah, when I switched back to rooks, we had the bish airfield on furball island dead and swarmed, and we had the knight airfield capped.  Then they are calling for troops to capture the bish airfield!!!  I got into a discussion with a guy about how stupid that was, and his reasoning for capturing it was:  "Because it is there".

Problem is, once you start to eliminate my ability to fight, either by killing the hangers/carrier or delaying my ability to up an aircraft, then no we really can't get along.

Why don't people come up with ways to make the fights last longer or make them more challenging?  Why are people always suggesting ways to stop the fighting rather than enhance the fights?

So your telling me the hordes of base capture people are not enough to drop the city/vh and cap the field long enough to capture the field.  Now you need to delay a players ability to up and take the most desirable machine to defend.

Why don't we make it so all you have to do is fly the goon over the city and you get the capture lolh:rolleyes:

I so agree. Face the facts folks, you are not going to limit what people can fly nor when they can fly it. Aside from perk points it ain't gonna happen. It would piss off far to many people for HT to even consider it.

Mars is right, there are far to many ways to stop the fighting all together.  Seems every time a good fight begins some swarm of "heros" comes along and drops the fighter hangers then flys in in force to cap a field that can barely put up a stuggle.

Case in point, Friday night (2am ish) on Furball Island some Rook "heros" dropped the hangers on the Bish base and then swarmed the base, Problem was they didn't even take the base! If the only way you can get kills is to kill the hanger then hang around and wait for them to come back up so you can vulch, that pretty pathetic.

Thing is it was 2 sectors to the nearest Bish base, at 2am I'm not going to fly that. So basically they ended my night, thank you very much.

PS: We capture bases many times without dropping the VH's. Real usefull if you want move on to the next capture quickly. You don't have to wait 15 minutes while the enemy is mounting a counter attack on the base you just captured.

They don't want to "fight", they want to "win" the game.

I think by making strat targets more valuable you will see a larger area in which to fight, not less, with more targets to attack and ofcourse defend the number of fights will increase.   I also don't think 50 miles (two Sectors) is very fat when airspeeds are 350 to 375 MPH.
