GV main gun ammo
« on: April 05, 2005, 08:53:09 PM »
Question, why is it that the M8, Panzer at least (I'm assuming its the same with the Tiger and T-34) show way more ammo than you are capable of firing?  I know I dont use GV's much, but am I missing something for "reloading" the gun after so many rounds have been fired?  The amount of ammo does seem excessively high, but I have no idea how much they are supposed to pack.  Thanks.

I am pretty sure the older tanks like the Tiger and sherman carried lots of main gun rounds.

If you look at cut aways, they had ammo stored everywere, sometimes even under the floors.

Tiger info

That page shows 92 main gun rounds.

Ahh, now that I think about it, I vaguely remember a thead on that awhile back.

So for example, last night I used an M8.  Expended all the rounds the main gun would fire.  It still showed 1500 rounds remaining.  So these would be for the extra gun?  I dont understand why they use the same ammo counter, but at least there's an explanation and I'm not crazy.  :)
