Ch throttle programming

Just got the CH pro throttle usb, and no matter what I try cannot get it to program. used ch manager to input macros commands, but they dont seem to stick. and the control panel/game controls keeps dropping the throttle alltogether as if its not there.

any ideas whould be appreciated

Make sure everything you program is in lower case.It also sounds like you might have the stick,rudders,and throttle out of order.It can be a pain in the butt,but it's fixable.CH isn't real big on helping you program setup.Once you get the CMS figured out,it's a breeze.If you still having trouble,I'll recheck,and maybe I can help you out.

assign functions to the throttle thru CH software button1,2 ect.., take a screenshot of settings, then goto AH setup and assign the same keys/functions there. works for me.

Doobs once you've input all that are you downloading it? You open the file so it shows what controls you have. Then you need to click the download button so it loads that profile.  The button is the ninth button over going from left to right. Have it download then exit the ch manager.

I'm sure your using button commands that have already been assigned in AH so it should work fine once you've downloaded it. I'm also going to assume you've setup your CMC file already. If those are all there then it should work once you've downloaded.

Edit:  Also what's your current setup. Stick, throttle and rudders? If your having problem I can shoot you my map and cmc files. Then you can change it. I'm running a CH Fighterstick, Pro throttles and Pro Pedals.

thanks, got it running, two problems left to overcome.
1. cant' get the throttle itself to work, the one on my MS FF sidewinder (which I hate, not the stick, just that little paddle throttle) works. No matter what I try I can't get it to switch. The only time was able to get it to work I had the stick removed, so I had working throttle, but no stick.

2. the mini stick, bout gave up on that, read everything i could at ch hanger, tried everything, dont know.

Okay are you trying to get the mini stick to act as a mouse and/or view controller? If so the simple way to do it is to select the mini stick in your ch manager profile by moving it. Then under DX device axis settings go to the very bottom and select mouse. The mini stick will be a second mouse whenever the profile is loaded. I use it from time to time in the game in conjunction with my hat switch for looking around. You have to have mouse look enabled in the game though for it to move your view around. If you don't want that you can control your mouse pointer in the game with it. Just as a note if you use it for mouse look the pointer is going to move too. Wish they had an auto hide for that or something. Make sure you save this profile over the top of your old one once you've changed something. If ya don't it will default back to the original profile you had setup.

Now as far as the throttle issue. Download your profile during this setup. Just as a note when your profile is loaded the game won't label your controllers how you would normall expect them to. It will label them as "CH Control Manager Device 1,2,3, ect...". If you only have one CH device on your system then it should come up as CH Control Manager Device 1 for your throttle. Also note you can launch an aircraft and do this on the runway so you can see that your changes are working correctly and nothing else has gotten messed up in the process.

You can go in to setup, controls, joystick, and then select joystick. Click on the "throttle 1" to the far left. If it's mapped to the throttle paddle on the MS FF then it will highlight your MS FF Sidewinder and the z axis to the far right . You can switch that so your CH Throttle controls that axis. In order to switch it select "throttle 1". Now select your CH Throttle (CH Control Manager Device ?)and then select the CH throttles Z axis. Then click on set input. That should now map your CH Throttles Z axis to throttle 1. Once you've set that go ahead and hit apply.

In order to make sure it selected it properly click on roll to the far left. That should switch and highlight your MS FF Sidewinders x axis. Now select throttle 1 to the far left. If it's setup properly it will automatically highlight your CH Control Manager Device ? and the throttles z axis.

To check and make sure all your axis have been applied properly click on each one to the left. It will automatically highlight the controller and the axis that has been mapped for that particular function. If you need any help I'm on the west coast so give me a time you wanna meet up in the TA or DA and I'll walk you through it.

Also if you would like I can walk you through how to setup your throttle so each switch has a secondary shifted function if you don't know how to set that up.

What this means is you'll hold one button down that will act as a shift button. Then you can setup every other button on your controller to have a primary and secondary mode of operation. So basically a 4 way hat button will have a total of 8 functions. One set will be non-shifted and the other set will be a shifted set.

cobra tried and have tried setting input. I can change the z axis to the ch throttle, set input, and apply. the Z axis stays assigned to the ch throttle, but when I move the throttle back and forth the z axis setting doesn't change. tried calibrating, get nothing.
go out to runway to give it a try, engine starts and revs to a set point and I can't change it, on either throttle control.
I can change the throttle back to the ms ff sidewinder no prob, but after I assign it back it shows slider instead of z axis.

I'll keep trying got to get it sooner or later.

I had the same problem with my former CH Pro throttle, I eventully sent it back and they sent me a new one. The new one seemed to work for a while, then the same problem with the slider returned. If you ever find the answer, I'd sure apprectiate it if you could post the solution

Doobs have you tried calibrating it in CH manager? To be honest if you did what I said and it didn't work I have no clue.

The ch program manager doesnt work for me at all. I couldnt play AH with it. So I dumped it and programed in game. I lost some programing but it is the only way I could get my ch USB to work.
