Thanks to the ones with the good advice!
a few of the answers I am still pondering the significance of.... Jump out of the bushes? K

Curval if you happen to run into the friend I would like to know the device manufacturer it sounds like it could solve the problem!
TIA

I think Wombatt and Curval are on the right path. They need a hub with all the BS they have running to the TV. They also need to cough up a few bucks for the hassle they put you thru.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Give me some model numbers and I may be able to come up with somthing... I do work in the A/V industry but I tend to learn visually and I'd need to download or look at the specs and find a diagram of the rear panels. :)

Tojo do you know what kind of stereo he has? Also if you know the makes and models of the other devices I could easily setup a graph that would show you what connections to make from each specific device. This would help you with the setup and it would help to limit confusion when the user wants to select a specific device to use.

I'll have to check but I think I can setup macros for the Kameleon which helps alot in the end.

lol Soulyss beat me to the punch. I was thinking the exact same thing. Nice to have manuals and back panel visuals readily available on the internet. :D

Depending on his audio receiver he may not need something like that. He could get away with using his receiver as the hub and a basic universal remote. Granted he may not have a device that is as capable as per say my Harmon Kardon but it might just do the trick. Would need to know the make and model of his receiver to see if it's worth trying it though.

That is a good option though if his current equipment can't be used as a hub though.

If anything, it was a...  modest proposal.
