Who will be the new pope?
« on: April 07, 2005, 05:04:04 PM »
Hiya guys,

Anyone interested in guessing who the new pope will be?  I've heard the following:

1. It will probably NOT be a US citizen.
2. The Nigerian Cardinal seems pretty popular.

Anyone else want to predict or share rumors?

I'm atheist, but I think JPII did a fine job, and he will be a tough act to follow.

I am giving 100 to 1 it will not be the Nigerian.

Not unless they want to drive a stake into the heart of Catholicism.

When is the reality TV show coming out? You know.. "who wants to be the pope".

Oh yeah.. George Bush Jr. might have good chances, hes doing alot of things permitted by god. Seems to have a good relation to the fella.

They could do a Big Brother thing. Put 12 holy men in a house with 24/7 live coverage and let the viewers decide. Oh.. and they dont get to bring their bibles so no fun for them.

Ok, congratulations, you've all proved how clever you are.  Good job!

Now, back to the subject, any predictions on who will be elected pope in a couple weeks?

If we have to be serious. The Nigerian guy is a hot tip but maybe abit controversial? if my memory serves me right, the now departed pope was the first non-italian and they may wanna have an italian before they go abroad on the next one.
