WASHINGTON, DC--President Bush offered some helpful advice to the nation’s jobless yesterday when he suggested they enter the lucrative field of professional baseball. He cited the $2.3 million average salary and numerous fringe benefits as reasons that more Americans should try out for the major leagues.

However, it is very difficult for random people with no jobs to become professional ballplayers. It requires a lot of talent, coordination, and skill, unlike being president, which requires a rich father and a tragically disinterested populace.

"The president’s suggestion that more Americans learn to play baseball was ingenious,” said Chao. “Major league baseball is a billion dollar industry. Have you seen them play? It’s just running, throwing, catching, and hitting, things we all did as small children. For these critics to come forth and disparage the idea is just shameless. It’s this kind of cynicism and resistance to new ideas that created our economic woes in the first place. Not that we have economic woes. We don’t have any at all. ‘You’ have economic problems. ‘We’ are doing great. So there.” [\b]
OMFG - Are you serious?  Bush’s labor secretary, Elaine Chao is rubbing cheese in the face of every pseron who is down on their luck, ousted from their once good paying jobs, caught up on the bad end of this recession.  Inflation is every where you turn  WTF are these people smoking.  Name a few meaningful costs that have stayed the same or gone down in the last 3 years.

This is totally fked up.  Tell this to all the out of work manufacturing people that were doing well at one time.  Tell it to all the IT people that were making a great living serving Americans, making the American $$ that stayed in America and now that money is in India, China and Russia.  Tell it to the people that are losing their bread winners due to 911, Iraq and the like.

Sorry we sent your job overseas so we could save a bunch of money, and by the way I'm raising the price I'm selling it for.  Hey but you could always go play baseball, you know how easy it is to get into one of those programs, oh your dad's not an oil tycoon.

----------------      Were Rich so FUC YOU!

Just the attitude you want in a labor secretary.

You know what? Bush got booed at the Pope's funeral. Shame on all those M'fers. I dislike him as much as any euro but have some friggin respect. Almost made me think he is doing good if he p.o'd a bunch of people that are willing to boo at a funeral. You euro's talk a lot about respect and doing the right thing then you show your true colors. Well I say boo to you. When Europe grows a pair the whole world will be better off than anything America could ever hope to accomplish.

Well, he hasnt exactly been very respectful of them has he?

That said, folks should give the heads of our gov's at least the basic respect due the position (even if those heads are di**heads, they are still the ones in charge).  I dont much like GB either, I think he's a total Goober.  But I'd never boo him or embarass him publicly.  I dont care who you are, thats just wrong, especially considering the situation he was there to observe.
