dude no way!

im 2.1ghz, 1gbRAM 128mb ATI9800 (?) and i run highest res possible with detail sliders at half way.

min frame rate even skimming the tree tops is 40-50. usualy fps at 1,000ft is 60-70+

something is not right unless the genius programers at MESH where i got this rig did something magical with my system.

edit: in my experience updating vid drivers causes nothing but trouble.

32 fps max? I am running an Athlon 2000XP (1.66ghz), 512m ddr ram, FX5700LE 128m video card. I get in the 70's at altitude, high 40's to high 50's near thre grnd, and near a base low 40's/high 30's. I have others skins off, weapon and gv effects off, top slider 1/3 from the right, both of the other sliders all the way to the right.

The only time I get really crappy fps now (below 30) is over a burning field with lots of cons. Well, the burning bombers can drop me into the teens.

I suggest an email to support@hitechcreations.com. Something isnt right with your setup.

The biggest thing I did to improve how the game runs on my comp was to remove my SB Audigy sound card. I replaced it with an offbrand soundcard for $15. I gained about 10 fps on the high end and the low end performance jump was huge.

There is something about SB sound cards and VIA chipsets that reduces perfomance. Skuzzy can tell you what it is, he was the one that informed me about it.

In the end you should be thankful for those players like us who switch to try and help keep things even because our willingness to do so, helps a more selfish, I want it my way player, get to fly his latewar uber ride.

My FR's dropped big time as well...Was running 1600 x 1200...dropped it down 1 notch on the res, scaled back the detail sliders to halfway and all is fine again..

ps..I would luv to see some pix comparing the detail slider settings if anyone has them.

fps down to 15 or so in avg overflight, in medium range view.
A fraction of 1fps when looking at them zoomed while near or skimming ground level.

Actually the forrest shape outlines could be a bit less dense ... if getting back to the original tree topic :) Now they look like greenish cakes when looking a bit further away.
Even the closest LODs could have every 2nd tree removed bot for the sake of appearance and playability. Often less is more ;)
