Just looked at the lap now the link's working.  And yeah I meant turn 11 not 10.

I'm taking turn 11 faster.  My speed never drops below 80mph on the entry.  I'm also taking turn 12 tighter, I clip the curb on the left side to get set up for turn 13.

I think that's the only difference.

Hiya Swoop and the rest of ya GT'ers

Question:
Do any you frequent dedicated Gran Turismo BB's?  I know of one thats been pretty popular over the years, they have a lot of useful info, tips and races going on.  If interested let me know.

I need to get GT4 myself, but I was so slow in GT3 I kinda got away from it and lost interest....never did get past about 55% complete.

Yeah I normally brush the curb at 12.  I missed it that time because I was out of shape coming out of the tunnel.  Which happened because I got onto the curb too hard, which happened because I braked a little too much entering 11 and ended up with a smaller radius than I wanted.
That lap was a good time only because of 3/4 and 6/7/8 which went about perfect.
I think if I had put the 3/4 6/7/8 from that lap together with a better run through 5 and 12 I might have gotten closer to your time.  Check out 5 on the video.  It's hard to see because of the camera angle, but I almost spun as I got on the brakes.

To me 6/7/8 is the hardest thing to repeat because you have to alternate agressive/smooth inputs.  You have to be really smooth at the entrance and then just brutal through the middle, then very precise picking up the entrance to 9.

That sounds like the way I always did it in earlier versions....ride the rumble strip on the left coming out of turn 12 and going into turn 13, then cut it just shy of the right rumble strip on 13 accellerating the whole way.  Caution.....see my previous post about being terribly slow :p

edit:
PS. sorry about jumping in here...kinda miss the game.  Good luck with it.

BlkKnit by all means post a link to the forum.  Hope you get GT4 soon.

I'm enjoying the hotlapping stuff we are doing here.  In my "other" driving sim career I drive Group C cars in really long (6 to 12 hour) enduros against live opponents.  Each car has a team of drivers who trade off in shifts to cover the whole distance.  And there is an unforgiving damage model.  So you really really have to be careful and stay out of trouble on your shift, lest you prang the car and let down your team.  Which makes it refreshing to pick up GT4 with no damage model and just beat the snot out of the car going for the best time.  :)

PS if any of you want to run one of the enduros, let me know, we can always use and extra driver for the longer events.

House of GT

have a look around.  I should add that the board owner and admins are good sorts but dont put up with a lot of shennanigans.  Well, actually they do, its not like another board of this kind had become over the last few years.  BTW I am a  mod there, but its not really any work since no one posts much in my forums    I talked them into a flight sims forum, in an attempt to lure some folks to AH, but no luck.

Anyway, enjoy (I am MEFBlackKnight over there)

2'15.074

Did I mention I hate this track?  Can't really say why I hate it either.  Probably the hazy recollection of trying to keep up with the AI cars at FFT in my used RX7 way back in GT1.  Couldn't understand why the car wouldn't turn :D

I'm sick of studying, so I put a wing on the car and managed a 2:15.584
Will keep at it for a while until guilt takes me back to my notes.

My mate Talyn - 2'11.653
Heretik - 2'15.352
