I nearly died of the exact same thing a couple of years ago.  GL on your recovery Boroda.

Sorry, Mora, but I am a male and don't have fallopian tubes :)

Thank you, gentlemen! I was really touched when Estel brought me a print of this thread!... Helped me to recover faster...

Only I could have a gangrenous peritonitis developed in 12 hours since first little stomach ache...

Ambulance came only 1 hour 45 minutes after I called 03. It was a Saturday night, I wonder how long it takes on weekdays with Moscow traffic jams. But it seems that only I was so lucky (as usual), my hospital mates said that even on weekdays ambulance usually comes in no more then 30-40 minutes.

Surgeon who operated me literally saved my sour life. She said that she will see my operation in her nightmares. After general anaesthetic I started to strangle, and that failed to intubate me - I have a wrong throat shape :) So they waked me up, made me breath again and used spinal injections. I had a rare experience to feel how they pull my guts out :D Triple portion of muscle relaxant didn't work on me. Under my beer belly surgeon found abdominal muscles that were so thick that it took her 10-15 minutes to cut through them. I never thought that I have any abdominal muscles, ;)  but what she discovered is probably a result of my mountain hiking experience... 10 years of carrying 40kg backpacks all over the Union, and, as usual, everything I do is no good for me :D

Hosptal was surprisingly good, like in Soviet times, doctors and nurces were attractive and nice, my room-mates were very friendly and interesting people, even food was quite fine, so I stayed in hospital for extra three days :) The only problem was that they didn't have all nessesary modern antibiotics and pain-killers (only in reanimation department they have everything), but Estel and other friends brought me everything I needed in the morning after the operation. It's great to have such friends!

Situation in Russian health-care is artificially complicated by our new-fangled "medical insurance". Government still pays for healthcare, but now the money go through "insurance companies" that make huge profits, in other words - this parasites steal money we need for medical care. My doctor was happy when I said that I didn't get a "medical insurance" card, it meant that I'll not go claim money for the medicines my friends bought from insurance company and she'll not have any problems. Bloody bastards could take the money from her salary  Doctors can't even recommend any medicines they used in a hospital for post-hospital medical cure, insurance companies don't accept anything more expencive then aspirine

Anyway, I was lucky enough to survive, thanks to my surgeon, and had two weeks of good time in a hospital :) Now I am almost as good as new, only the wound itches a little, so I am ready to keep waving the Red Banner here again ;)

Again, many thanks to you, guys! You really helped me to recover!

Well that settles it, never get sick while in Moscow.

Glad your feeling better.  Welcome back.
