Now that the new version is out, the skinning tool will soon be made available as well.  Probably today.

The next planes that are going to be revamped are the P-47s, P-51s, and 109s.

Surprise, Brits get the SHAFT again.

Already had 3 new US planes, + one overhauled.
New Japanese plane.
Just had the 190s done.

So yup lets do more of the same, us Brits can struggle on with a bastardised Spit 9 (worst one made), a Tiff thats around 15mph+ too slow at 5-8k, and the only decent two perked at ridic costs.

I just hope someone doesn't kill everyone elses chances of getting in a skin this time. Last time this happenend every mustang slot had skins in within the first week. I had to rush when doing "The Flying Undertaker" just so I could possibly get it in before the slots closed. It'd be nice to get a skin cycling process going.

Good to know what planes are coming up though.

Oh and no offense Kev but Brits are hardly getting the "shaft" compared to the other countries. Look at the Italian plane set(a whole whopping 2 aircraft), Japanese plane set(lacking in a few areas), and German plane set (lacking in a few areas).

Allthough I think you come across a bit too strong on this I know what you mean. 109's just got new (AH1 standard) models and P-51D was the last plane to recieve a facelift in AH 1.11. It good to remember that Spits also recieved a face lift in a version before that. ;) I do agree that there could have been loads of older models they could have updated first but...

Considering the planes allready remodeled and the types to come there is a clear pattern to be seen. Looks pretty obvious that HTC is remodelling the TOD-plane set first.

It's a pity though to see Dux doing a superb FiAF 109G-6 skin and then its lifetime will be fairly limited. :( I hope it's an easy job to revamp it from the old skin...

Agreed, what I was on about was the order in which planes are being remodelled. Pretty obvious the focus is on the US/German side of things.
If as has been suggested this is for T.O.D. then would have expected the Spits and to come before the P47s, after all the war did start prior to Dec 1941.
Totally agree on the Italian planeset, but could add the Russian one also.
As for lacking areas, think most countries are.

I'm sure it's for TOD and I'm pretty sure the Brits won't be left out. I'd have to think that they will get to the Brit planes before TOD is done. Who knows when that'll be but according to what was posted in the announcement forum they will be working hard on TOD now that this patch is out. Meanwhile planes will continue to be updated.

I mean heck look how long it took for the 190s to get out and that's alot of planes to remodel, skin and adjust FMs. The other birds shouldn't take that long. Especially considering they are allowing certain skinners to help with the process. I'm sure that cuts their completion times in half even with a large set of aircraft variants. They probably have a good idea on how long it will take to complete aircraft updates now that they did the first one successfully.

What would be really nice is if HTC made it so each squad had there own skins. There would be two sets of skins for an aircraft. One set is for the squadron, the other set are just other unit skins that are allowed. I know my squad the 361st FG flew P-38s, P-47 and the P-51s. It would be nice to see some special skins for just the 361st that myself and squadies used.
I know there are lots of historical squads in the MA. I think this system would work well. Kinda like how our squad noseart works.
