Other than the case, the internals are all generic parts.  Not trying to poo-poo on anyone's parade, but they really are not anything special.

The Intel systems use regular Intel motherboards.  Never been a fan of Intel motherboards myself.

DDR2 ram is too hot and slow, compared to DDR1, and the Prescott Pentium 4 is too hot and too slow.

It would play Aces High fine, but it is going to get awfully hot.  Long term reliability would be a concern.

These guys use off the shelf parts also, just not jacking the prices up as much as everyone else.

If youre going with AlienWare, go with the AMD stuff. Or better yet, look at the description of the computer and buy the parts seperatly. They use off the shelf stuff that you can buy yourself.

Well my new computer which i self assembled :D  (that was fun and very scary stuff) cost 1620 euros. Been happy with this, but what this would need more would be more memory.

thanks guys, sounds like, stay away from Pent4(get amd), and DDR2(get DDR1).  ill have to look around some, thanks for the links.
