I am listening to the Nebraska spring football game on the 'net right now. I have closely followed spring practice this year via the 'net. Last year the Huskers had absolutely horrible play from their quarterback (Joe Dailey).

This year, they have a JUCO transfer at quarterback named Zac Taylor. After the end of the first drive in the 2nd quarter Taylor already had 227 yards passing! Including a 53 yard strike for a touchdown. MUHAHAHAHAHA!

I have high hopes for this coming season. The Huskers probably wont win the Big 12 this year, but I see the potential for them to be in the Big 12 championship game.

Last year, for the first time since I have been alive (I am 42) the Huskers had a losing season. It wont hurt my feelings one bit if they go another 42 years before another losing season. :D

Joe Daily, last years starter at quarterback just threw an interception on the first series he played in. It was returned for a touchdown. I sure hope this guy doesnt get any playing time in the 2005 season. He threw 19 Int's last year. gahhhh!

Yes. As far as I know all college spring games are basically an intersquad scrimmage in a game format. In this case, its the Red team vs the White team.

First half is over, White squad 42, Red squad 7. In the first half *The Human Stick* (Beau Davis, 6'6" 180 lbs) was the primary qb for the Red squad. No word yet on the passing stats for the half on Zac Taylor.

Zac Taylor, 357 yards passing, 3 touchdowns, no interceptions. No stats yet on completions/attempts. Thats just in one HALF. :D

*edit* the total yards passing sets a new Husker spring game record for passing yards in a game.

COOL!  That's good news.  As an avid huskers fan (born and bred...not band wagon) I am glad to hear they have a decent QB this year.

How close to the stadium were you born? I was born 2.8 miles from it, my red blood cells are in the shape of red N's. :D

WOW!! Taylor was 22-27 passing. 81.4% completion %. An announcer said: Taylor is not only throwing accurately, but with authority. I can't wait to see video clips of this guy throwing. Heck, I want the season to start last week! :D

He most likely wont see any action in th 2nd half. I lost my connection to the server I was listening to the game on. Server overloaded :(

*Edit*  Mr. Taylor was 20-27 passing for a 74% completion percantage, still awesome! 22-27 was bad info from a poster on another bbs.

At his time of year? Not much else is going on. It's a bit early to think about water skiing. The fishing might be starting to pick up though :) Think the crops should be planted already by this time.

*edit* 63,416 is a record attendance for a spring game at Nebraska. Old record was last year, 60,000. I dont recall the record previous to last years. Alot of the high attendance the last 2 years can be attributed to 1) the debut of the West Coast offense at NU 2) this years heated battle during practice for the starting qb postion.

I dont know, I would take self-scrimmage games with a grain of salt.  Although it displays the best of offense and defense you still are playing yourself.  The Heels had a spring game recently and the ending score was 12 to 17 I think.  With only the last quarter being a running clock.  I could imagine the game could have been less boring if there were star players with amazing plays...there weren't.

Well, last years starter went 7-20 passing today. I think it's pretty safe to say we wont have to endure his mediocrity again next year. :D

I understand that spring games are just a glorified practice. Considering the Huskers went 5-6 last year and didnt go to a bowl game for the first time in 36 years, this kid Zac Taylor gives us hope of returning to the glory days. Dont spoil it :D
