Had a pretty unique experience today that rekindled some old memories and things forgotten as time passed. Sort of reminded me that my life has always been fired by things sort of on the edge and how much I actualy enjoyed the juice.
A friend of mine owns an RV park and moblile home park on the lake.
On the weekends the RV park is hopping with the people that come from the city that has weekend RVs there, to blow off some pressure and steam.
My friend had a lift pump go down on the RV park in the early afternoon and needed some help and called on me.
As if he didn`t have enough problems going for him, while I was on the way he had a problem arise with one of the folks in the mobile home park. When I got there I grabbed one of his trucks and headed out while he was leading in his golf cart he uses to get around on. We got to the guys place, a double-wide on the water with a four car garage and a giant lot. Beuatifull place I might add.
First thing I noticed when I pulled up was a `65 Stang under a fabric cover. The guy walked out while I was getting out of the truck and I thought....geeez that guy looks familiar, then got busy gettin stuff out of the truck. I was still thinking in the back of mind..where have I seen this guy before? Grayish hair sticking out from under a Harley cap, tattoo on one arm, gold earring, a goatee, etc, etc. I turned around and my friend called him by his first name and it hit me...BOOOM. I pulled my gloves out of my back pocket and started toward him. As I was walking towards him , he said ...man you sure look familiar. I gave him a pretty good swat with my gloves and asked him "What the f**k you doing hiding down ehre MFer?
He grinned and said " Well I `ll be damned".
My friend asked him "You mean you know this outlaw"? The guy said "Well, if I didn`t we wouldn`t be standing here talking because he saved my life one night".
Probably about 20 to 25 years ago in a small town he was Chief Of Police . He pulled up into a bad situation, with no back-up within 30 to 45 minutes away. There was a guy there who was waaaayyy out there who had beat the living hell out of one guy . I had gotten the guy back to somewhere close to mother earth when the squad car pulled up and he went ballistic again and went after the guy with the visible badge. He prety well had him beat down and on the ground. I was trying to stay out of it as long as possible . I saw him get in pretty rough shape on the ground with this zoomer on top and saw him reach down and undo the safety strap on the officers revolver. At this time the cop hollered that he needed my help. When I bailed in the revolver was half out the holster and was no doubt about what was about to happen. I bailed in and got a head lock on the guy and held on . One local arrived and was no help. He didn`t even have his friggen cuffs with him. Finaly 3 county cars showed up with a double team to a car. I ended up on the bottom of a pile, on a white rock side street still going after it with the zoomer. My back looked like I had been ran through a cheese grater.

The cat got cuffed and stuffed, then the congatulations pow wow started in a huddle. I had to interupt all the celebrating to inform them that someone had left the other back door open on the squad car. The cat was long gone , with his hands in cuffs behind him. :0
County, local DPS, a DPS chopper and a few hours later and the hunt was over.
Heehee. We had along talk and got caught up on old times past. You got to take into consideration back then I was not exactly viewed as the
model citizen. I had forgotten all about this and MAN ..did it bring back some memories.
The guy lives less than a quarter a mile away from me and has for a couple of years, but we had never even bumped into each other.
He told me he was on his wife # 3 since I had seen him and that he had been working UC drugs for nearly 20 years.
He went in and got the current wife, brought her out and introduced me as the guy who saved his life. I was sort of torn between Spider Man and total embarrassment.
Felt sort of good though to know that something I had taken part in and forgotten was remembered by someone even though I was not your most law abiding guy back then.
We shot the bull and talked about getting together and going for a putt on the scooters and fishing in the future.
Really sort of made me chuckle to myself as me and my wife were talking about it this evening. We were getting a kick out of this and lauging over the recent e-mails I had been getting from one of our illustrious players in the game to the tune of "I hope your health insurance is paid up" .."You will be seeing me soon" ..... "I coming for you" and blah blah blah on and on.
Sort of reminded me that there is young ankle humpers out there that don`t have a clue and have more than a lot to learn about reality.
Boredom over and DejaVu to off position.
