Medusa 5.1 headset

Just got a USB version after someone on here recommended them - very awesome, not that expensive, in fact cheaper than the Plantronics equivalent on Amazon - well worth it if anyone is thinking of upgrading.

Do you have 5.1 speakers also? If so, how does the headset compare to the speakers?

Purchased and installed the LTB Headset.  Great Price and superb performance.

Well worth the investment.

You guys are aware sound based headsets using the USB port are going to incur very high overhead with the CPU?

Thats how the Sennheiser PC155 USB sets are only they have a USB dongle that has the standard headphone and mic plugs that plug into it. The USB connection has a "sound chip" in it for PC's that do not have a sound card.

I personally like my headset better than anything else that I have tried in a very long time.

Headsets are great, but plugging them into a USB bus is going take 6 or 7 times the amount of CPU cycles (for every sound played) than plugging them into a high quality sound card.

I just want to make sure people understand that.

Athlon64 3400  with 2 gig of PC3200.  I don't notice a thing except the stutter I had when I used vox with the 5.1 SB Card.

No stutter at all when I use vox now.

Sound Card eliminated from my system has helped.

SBLive?  VIA motherboard?  If yes, then I can believe it, but it is still chewing up your CPU.
