Old Stationary Engines?

Ive searched and searched, but I'm having trouble finding the engines im looking for.

I personally know nothing about them, except for what Ive been reading tonight.

Names like Novo Frost Proof? (American Bosch), Hercules, Cushman Cubs.

It Would really help me out. I have more information if needed.

I don't collect them, but I like to hike to remote places and look at them. It's a neat felling to think that you and only a handfull of other humans have looked upon a particular machine in 80 years.

It's a big movement in England; where they're known as "stationary engines".

You'll find then listed in any web site that deals with "Steam"; "country" or "game" fairs.

We have about 10 or so Hercules JXD 160's...

They are the military version used in the Scout Car, M-20, M-8, and a few other trucks.

It is the same as the White Hercules 150A civilian version.

Also used in all the old wooden Chriscraft boats. Hard as hell to find parts for. That said, I have about 6 sets of new pistons, 4 new cranks, two used, 20 or so new camshafts, 8 sets new in and exhaust valves. Boatloads of bushings and bearing, 1 set new timing gears, and a bunch of miscelaneous crap.

What I am looking for if you come across them, are the military versions Generators.

They are like hens teeth, non existent.

I think these engines are a lot older than WWII, With a tad more searching, I think the oldest one is 1906 or 7.

They are all (7 engines in total) in great shape, Re painted, but havnt been run in years, I'm guessing. My Grandafther is Ill, and hes selling them to a friend and collector. I decided I would try to dig up some info before he sold them.

I collect Engine. I keep him in a deep hole I dug in my basement. I throw lotion at him and let him enjoy Auto Trader magazine.
