Aircraft explosions?
« on: April 18, 2005, 10:22:21 AM »
I haven't seen enough of them yet, but it seems to me I saw smoking debris particles ejected from the explosion.   I am seeing right?

Seems nicely done to me, except that the explosion forms and dissipates so rapidly it looks more like a detonation than an explosion to me, really.   Is that jiust my system?

It's a concession to framerates. To render a more detailed and realistic version of the explosion would be hard on the systems of a lot of players. But it has improved a great deal recently, and the improvement is greatly appreciated.

You made it back, didn't you!    After I got both your engines smoking I had to break off with a N1K closing on my tail, and tried to lose him in down low in the trees, but I still bought the farm.

So close to a 262 kill with a P-40E, I couldn't believe it!

Man a kill like that would be sweet.
though the fightin' down low is a no-go
since the new patch, I am fine up high but
down low I get a horendous frame rate.
I am not likely going to deal with that long
though because my wife said I can get me
a new video card. (the new trees and clouds
and explosions are worth the investment in
new hardware. :aok

I took a 200 shot at you and missed cause of the speed difference at altitude, then I went in low to clear the LA7 off of one of my guys down low.

I lost track of you, and went three notches of flaps and started turning behind the LA7. I had a shot line up, then tracers started flying past and hitting my plane. I looked back and you were 400 out and hosing me. LOL

I actually picked up 2 more kills with 2 engines smoking while on the way back to base on a bomber formation hitting a V-base. I was laughing the whole time.

Nice job swooping in.:aok
