Can I reserve the entire Sistine(spelling?) Chapel for a weekend?

The whole show is stupid. Black smoke, white smoke......it's pretty stupid.

Why not just announce the new pope after they make their vote? Why the need for all the drama?

On another note why the need for more than 1 vote. They prayed to God for guidance before they voted. Guess he was busy or something. Seems like the first vote would be it.

well, they gotta be sure before they elect the new pope, because after they elect him, he will suddenly be a "holy" father as if by magic.

not at all Bodhi. See, one of JP-2's "improvements" to the process was moving the cardinals from lockdown on cots in the sistine chapel ( small house on the Michelin guide with an umbrella indicating the aesthetically interesting decoration on the roof) to a sort of papal hotel (only four stars though, since the pool is really more of a baptismal font). So each of the cardinals is sitting around, drinking wine, getting room service while watching the Spice Channel, and hoping that the other 116 cardinals aren't also voting for Pico Pallino as pope.
Another of his "improvements" are the new "overtime" rules. After 30 votes (two weeks, with breaks), the required vote drops from 79/117 to 59/117. So they'll blow black smoke for two weeks, bone up on the best in softcore pornography, then cast a 59-cardinal vote for Bodhi, or some other ultraconservative Catholic.

Well, ya see Dinger, the "other" ultra conservative Catholics you lumped me in with might be really peeved to know I am in their group, especially when they find out my plans for the new line of Entertainment Productions the Vatican will be putting out when I am the new pope.

The first of these new shows will be:

Vatoporn - a truly sensational XXX pRon experience with a truly "holy" twist.  :D

I am also in discussions with .50 cent and Snoop Dog about a show called VatiRap... but that is really to early to tell.

Another great plan we have is for the new Vatican sponsored airshow demonstration team we plan to call the Loopey Angels.  :D  Aircraft and pilots TBA

The next plan is to buy the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and move them to the Vatican where they truly belong!  Think of the team power when the church is behind them.

Last but not least, the Vatican plans to sponsor an F1 team, Nextel Cup team, and Busch Team.

The Vatican's extreme sports sponsorship is meeting some resistance, although I would have thought Cardinal tipping would have been a big hit for the rest of the church!   :rofl

A German was elected.

I wonder how they do it..

Do they take Papal-smeares and incinerate them to see which color of smoke they get?
