I use a Temperpedic on a very firm spring mattress.  When you choose a pillow, consider whether you sleep on your back or side.  Either way you need a pillow that will keep you spine straight.  Side sleepers need thicker pillows than back sleepers.

Whats sleep??? The O'l lady talked me into a second cat this weekend. I now have 2 Turkish Angora. My cat, furball knows there is a second cat in the house some where. So starting at 3am every morning untill the alarm he bounces up and down on my chest 5 minutes after each time I get back to sleep. He's not happy, and he doesnt want anyone else to be happy right now.

So let me ask what's it like to sleep with even a really bad pillow????? HMMMMMMM.....the new cat is in the bathroom. He can levitate 9ft straight up. He tried to help me shave this morning by jumping onto my shoulder from behind..........

I have like 6 of those 99 cent pillows you can buy at wal-mart, the reason for the six is that after one night you need to stack all six on top of each other just to get the equivalent of one.

your mattress woud absolutely kill my back.

Oddly enough I can sleep on a floor or damn near anywhere in any position fine. LOL My wife says I could probably sleep on a picket fence.

But I cant sleep on a firm mattress without my back hating me for it. And I just cant seem to get comfortable or get a good nights sleep in em.

I like my beds soft. Best sleep I ever had was on my old king sized water bed. Damn I miss that thing.

As for pillows I like a nice heavy goose down pillow. you know the kind you can punch and leave a dent in, you can mould it to whatever shape you like and it will stay that way. and you can turn to get that nice cool side.
They usually weigh enough to knock someone over if you throw it at em.

HATE those cotton or poly filled pillows. Just cant seem to get em into any kind of a comfortable position

We have 3 cats. one cat tried that nonsence till I found the cure.

Grab cat by tail. Carry cat by tail to the back door. Open back door and launch cat outside for the night.
After a few times playing trapeeze that way he got the idea and gave up.
Now he just beats the crap out of the other cats at will which I can usually sleep through just fine unless I become part of the terrain.

Wakes my wife up though. But thats not my problem. Let her find her own solution:D

I use a couple pillows. Since I am primarily a stomach and back sleeper I use a very flat, I mean squashed flat, pillow. I have a second pillow that is great for reading and pulling over my head when I want to sleep in. I tend to sleep in pretty much every day. It's good to get paid to do nuthin. :D

2x squishy, down pillows
2x flatter, firmer pillows
1x couch pillow (small, firm) - for even more versatility

nuthin fancy like you temperpedic weenies

I can mix and match to my fit my preference of the particular night.   I sleep in random ways, side, stomach, back, sideways across the bed, under the bed... wherever.  When I was little, I had so many pillows I'd start building forts in my bed and attack my brother with socks and toys in the night.
