Win98 I believe is 1.5 or 2.5 times your ram.
WinXP U can use what the system recomends just set it same number on both min and max.
Mine recommended 1.534 gig but I just set 1 harddrive for 1 gig and my second harddrive for 1 gig for a total of 2 gig. Not that I will ever need that much but it there. I have 1 gig of ram for those settings.
