Again guys, thanks, reading all this info is helping a lot.  I would love to go to a regular college, but i shot myself in the foot.  Since i was 10 i had been planing on going into the airforce.  Even at the begining of this school year i had been planning on going into the Air Force, so i didnt bother taking the SAT/ACTs.  I wont be able to take them now until next spring.  Plus to add to the trouble when i was in 9th grade, i had my appendix out and failed 3 classes.  My GPA dropped like a rock and to this day i am still trying to get it back up.  As of a month ago i had a GPA of 2.5.  Most colleges i know of, they would rather take a student who has money, good SAT/ACT scores and a high GPA.  Again thanks everyone for your input.  I have heard a lot of good as well as bad things about ITT Tech.  So plz keep it commen!

Go Community College. I did, and worked to pay for it. If you go to a good one, you'll get the same education as you would at a 4 year university for the first two years.

Then transfer to a 4 year university (you can actually try to do this, if you wanted, after your first semester is over and you have good grades).

I got into University of MD after I finished my Community College. Transfered shortly there after to pursue the degree I wanted, but I got into UMD no problem and then transfered no problem.

I'm telling you, CC is a good way to go if you are concerned about money or can't get into a 4 year.

I graduated from ITT in 1984 with one of their very first bachelor's degrees, in automated manufacturing technology.  I have worked as an engineer since that time, except one period last year when I was laid off for 10 months.

I've made really good money at it, and have been satisfied with my career, for the most part.
 HOWEVER...

Go to a real university, get a recognized bachelor of science degree.  Have some fun while going to school.  Join a fraternity.  ITT has no school activities, no teams, no...sense of community.

That will become important to you later.  Trust me.  I miss not having a real "alma mater".  And I find myself apologizing for my degree, rather than being proud of it.

I see guys with University degrees networking together to cover each other, kind of like a squad here.  Universities have a support system on campus to help you adjust.  None of that is available at ITT.

It's your call.  Both routes can get you where you want to be--combined with ability, a good attitude, and hard work.

Good luck, and if you have any questions, look me up in the MA as "shubie".  I'll be glad to help.

I wouldn't let your grades worry you so much about it. If there is a question from the school you can take an additional test. One of them is the Millers analogy test. I forget the name of the other one.

Just go apply at a junior college. Once you have a couple semesters grades in college behind you it will be a snap to get accepted at a 4 year institution. They will already know you can handle the work with the Junior college experiance.

I have noticed that you guys have said go to jr college then transfer to 4 year college.  I know for a fact a state university is not an option for me.  I bearly made it for the $67,000 loan for ITT.  My parents cant help me because they dont have good credit.  Id like to go, but i have a feeling that its not gonna happen.  Again guys, thanks a lot, this is making it easier to make my decision.  If you have any good info on schools that have a game design program, feel free to emial me, Airforcedude05@yahoo.com

As much as I hate to agree with Mavrick ( :p )

If you really think that you're ready for college, then troop on over to the JC, bust your bellybutton there for a year or two. By then you should know if you have what it takes to get to where you want to go, it won't cost nearly as much (well, I don't know about up there, but in CA the JCs were dirt cheap).

If you don't think you are ready for college (I wasn't at your age) then you might want to find something else to do for a while, until you figure a few things out.

How do you like Bellbottoms?

God I hope Pataya Beach wasn't hurt by that Tsunami.

Never say never in the world of tuition assistance and financial aid. The JC route affords you the opportunity to get in there on the relative cheap, boost your grades, and then qualify for all kinds of fun money when you transfer.

I absolutely hate being the guy who projects his own life back on others (old man Sikboy as it were... sigh) but that's essentially what I ended up doing.  My BA from the University of California cost me a total of 6,000 bucks in loans. (Of course I had the GI Bill, that went a LONG way  best $1,200 bucks I ever spent).

Yeah "Barely qualified for $67k at ITT" means nothing with respect to other options; in fact, I'd be wary of where that loan money comes from and what the terms are; either they're government-guaranteed student loans, in which case you can get them for any other school you go to, or they're another way ITT can make a buck off you, in which case you're better off not taking it. Community Colleges are dirt cheap; and a couple of years there with good performance will make any number of universities affordable. Again, look around.
ITT is for-profit. It's in their interest to convince you that you have no other options. There is no substitute for speaking with the other schools directly. Even HS counselors usually have no clue.

Go to Community College. They will let you in regardless of grades as long as you graduated hight school or got a GED.

Once there, get serious, work hard and if you get good grades you will be able to transfer to a 4 year school regardless of your high school GPA. Yiu can take SAT/ACT at any time if a target transfer school of yiurs demands it.

How do I know this and why should you listen to me?

I was a high school drop out. I never graduated and my GPA was far below 2.5.. But I got my GED and started at my local CC.  I got serious, I got a 4.0 GPA there and transfered to a great 4 year school where I graduted with a real bachelors degree and Summa Cum Laude Honors.

Community College saved my arse. Take advantage of the Community College system and skip the technical school. and on top of everyting it will save you a ton of money comparted to that 17K a year trade school.
