Connection question
« on: April 24, 2005, 07:38:59 PM »
How much does connection affect frame rates? I have always been flyable with my slow dial-up but now my FR's are down a bit. I can get in the 30's with detail turned down, but a bit jerky in furball.
I'm running a P4 2ghz radeon 9200 512 RAM machine.  I've been able to fly AH as I upgraded my system along with AH patches . I guess my question is if I was on high speed with the same sysem, how much would my FR's go up? I'm wondering if eventually as AH gets bigger and better, will i need high speed internet, or is that a non-factor.?
Not sure when DSL will be available in my area, if ever.

Thanks

The speed of your connection has nothing to do with the frame rates within the game.
It has been said before that all you need is a good quality 32k modem connection to play AH.
Most important is the quality of the connection, ie no packet loss and stable pings.
But it still has no relation to your fps.
