LOL...new nickname for Canadians down here
« on: April 28, 2005, 06:55:35 AM »
A while back I had mentioned that Canadians in Bermuda have long been referred to as "TACs".  This stands for "Tight prettythanged Canadians".

Apparently this term no longer applies, as I found out yesterday.

The new name for a Canuck is a "T-Rex".

The reason:

They have deep pockets...but tiny little arms.

LOL!

Hey! I like Canadians. Without them, we here in Florida wouldn't have anyone to flip off while we are trying to drive somewhere. :D

Thats funny Curval.

Most of the Canadians I've met put the americans to shame when it comes to knowing how to party & have fun.

You sure your not running into up tight republicans from new england masquerading as canadians?  :)

I AM a Canadian (citizenship through my mother) as well as being British (and fiercely proud of it).

"Tight new england republican" sounds kind of oxymoronish...

More common would be "hypocritical north eastern liberal"

Funny realy all this talk of Liberals. Means something different when you are a few days away from a general election.

Might be nice if the Liberal democrats got a go here. The other two seem to have made a fairmess of things be nice to give someone else the chance!

Canadians seem OK to me. All the good points of Americans without the arrogant paranoia of some of our transatlantic cousins!

( note the use of some, I know you are not all like that )

"Most of the Canadians I've met put the americans to shame when it comes to knowing how to party & have fun. "

why am I not surprised that someone from ND thinks canadians are party animals?

Makes you realize that all things are a matter of perspective.

still.... the thought of all those sophisticated, big city canadians whooping it up in North Dakota....

like skyprancer going on a missionary to teach dental hygene to people in botswanna.

Much better, something that you could say right to our faces and we wouldn't have a clue what you're talking about.

Apparently the reason Canadians are such cheapskates, when it comes to tipping at least, is because our wait-staff up here have a much higher hourly wage than most other countries, so we correspondingly tip less.

Although people in my social group and I usually tip at least 15%.
