OK

I have to ask cause rightnow its about 70/30

Side note:  I have tommorrow off after being on call for the last 7 days.  I am now able to consume adult beverages containing aclohol.

Ok back to subject:

I got hooked on this stuff in Yuma AZ and I wanted to know how many other people in other areas know about it.  Like I said it's 70/30 so far with 30 being in the Yes crowd.

Clamato is like tomato juice but i's made from clams (as far as I know)  It is an EXCELENT additive to beer or an equally EXCELLENT ingrediant to make bloody marrys with.

So Is it available in your area....have you heard of it......have you ever tried it in the above mentioned arangment?

I've seen it but never tried it. I just assumed it was like a tomato based drink. I like spicy hot V8's for that.

Maybe I'll try this.

Just have a vodka shot and wring out a used tampon into your mouth.  Same effect.

Know of it but never tried it (more traditional bloodies). What puts the clam in Clamato? Is it just the water clams have soaked in, an extract?

Okay, here is what you do.

You salt the rim of a tall glass with celery salt. (yes I said celery salt).

You put a couple of ice cubes in the glass along with an ounce and a half or two ounces of good vodka.

You fill the glass to about half an inch below the rim with the Clamato.

A couple of small squirts of worcestershire sauce, a drop or two (no more) of tabasco sauce, a small pinch of celery salt and a bit of black pepper.

Stick a celery stalk in it and stir.

Eat the celery.

Drink.

It's called a Bloody Caeser (SP?) and is quite popular in Canada.

Kinda like a Bloody Mary, but with Clam juice.

Cheers,
RTR

Never heard of it, but it doesn't sound very good.

What proportions do you mix the beer and juice?  What kinds of beers are we talking about?

That sounds really good. I'm going to try this for sure. I might add a bit more tobasco though, cause I love that stuff.

Thanks for the recipe.

Clamato is a Canadian drink. You make bloody Cesars out of it. Been around here since the late 70's.

I usually mix it in a Glass 1/3 Clamato 2/3 beer.  I've never tried this with anything other than domestics.  Don't go ruin good beer on my account (coors/light, miller, bud ect.)

The canadian origins actually make sense now.  Yuma gets a lot of "snowbirds" from canada.

They also make a "picante" SP version of the stuff.  It's a little more spicy.

RTR my wife makes them that way!  She also adds some salt as well (she's a salt feind though so mix to taste.)
