Tracer, I bought a Logitech  not long ago and it lasted about 3 weeks before it tore up on me.  Deadspots all over, it'd get stuck, etc....  I'd look at something else if I were you!

Excpected lifespan of a Junkitech is 3 weeks if you baby it.

Thats if you fly bombers, hit Alt X and stay in auto pilot.

The second you start to actualy turn with it, it explodes.

Logitech makes a really great stick as far as paper weights go.

I would never, ever, and i mean evvvver own another one.

Using a saitek evo at the moment, and have no complaints.

Jetb, the twisty is 100% better than using the keyboard, give it a try. For those who do not have rudder pedals, it's the next best thing.

Jet, do yourself a favor and bite the bullet early and get use to
the twist stick. Takes a little getting use to, but won't take long.
You'll need that left hand doing other things besides adjusting rudder.
Also play with the rudder adjustment slides in setup to get some of the gyrations out of it...

I have had 3 Ligitek sticks & all 3 lasted about 3 weeks & then started spiking like mad. Also the hat started crapping out about the same time.

DON'T waste your money on that p o s stick

Twisty stack has a vast advantage over using the keyboard. It's alot quicker, and more precise.

The same way rudder pedals blow twisty sticks out of water. BTW, I'll be selling my Thrustmaster Afterburner II as soon as my CH stuff arrives. :p

how the heck are you nerds affording that CH stuff? a full setup is over 400 bucks! unless you know anyplace cheaper than thier website to get it, your all freakin insane!

yes the cyborg evo is a great stick. been using mine now over a year and the only problem it has is the blue deal on the top where it says evo only lights up if i move the hat a certiant way. hardly an issue against playing, just a pretty issue.

Jet

I've been using a twisty stick since the first Sidewinder came out (I dunno how many years that is).  I'm about to switch over to pedals, but just so you know... twisty is fine, you just have to get used to it.

You might want to go into setup and dampen the rudder.. it depends on your style but I found the default is too sensitive.  I think this is where the myth that a twisty will mess up your flying gets it's foundation.  Just dampen it and maybe set a bigger dead-zone than you "think" you'll need and it will be fine.

Shop around... I think I used Froogle (among other things) and found stuff much cheaper than the CH website.  I saved about $80, maybe more on throt/pedals combined that way.

Best deal I found was the Saitek X45. You can try the X45 if you get it at Best buy and try it for 30 days or return it. I got the 2 yr. replacement warranty for 10.00 and can get a new stick as many times and at anytime with in 2 yrs over and over again for only 10 bucks. Or after 1yr you get your 79.95+ Tax back and buy what ever you want. What a deal. I have already on my 3rd one just cuz I didn’t like the way it was feeling. (BTW when I took it back the 1st time they also gave me a 20$ rebate that saitek was having 6 months later so I made 20 bucks) Best 10 buck I ever spent.  I Didn’t like the X45 rudder so I got the CH pedals for 100 bucks works great

Here is the set up on the X45 I have

My brother has owned the Logitech, but he got the insurance so he could replace it when it went bad.  Seems like he was always replacing it.  I thought he was just being hard on the stick, guess it is really not that beefy afterall.  I still might get one for my son to use, or as a backup.
