Actually we think of the US as a very large, rather dysfunctional teenager who keeps having temper tantrums and breaking things, sort of like a relative that's embarrassing but you can't get rid of him.

Getting any professional help for that gun fetish thingy btw?

No, Blair won because people still hate the Conservatives. He lost his large majority and will now have to work with the other parties, instead of steam-rolling legislation through the house(s).

Oh, and the economy being strong is another big advantage for him. But I get the feeling their may be trouble ahead on that front...

So, given the major downturn in the economy that is about to be unleashed, and fading memories about how bad right-wingers in government really were, you can expect the poodle to retire pretty soon, shortly followed by his entire party been thrown out of government.

Just seems that most of england is thrilled having a leader who coddles them and sucks up to the U.S. You would never know it from this board tho. Reading this board you would think engalnd had huge protests against the U.S. and blair every day... riots in the streets (british versions of riots) and all.

Of course everyone does realise that in the UK voting is party based rather than for the individual, one votes along party lines and no one, except in his own constituency of course, actually voted for Blair.

The Labour party won the election, I think they'll get rid of Blair before the end of the year.

I don't personally hate Blair, but I think he has the integrity of a used car salesman. And some of those salesmen can be likeable guys.

He has matched Thatcher's record of 3 consecutive election victories. Now let's wait to see if he mirrors her departure from office - by being ousted by his own party. I think that is entirely possible, in which case he could get the boot within the next 6 months at the Labour conference.
