Boston / A-20G are easy kills

Not the A20 so much..if you're relying on those 2 50cals in the back you're asking to die IMO.

ummm no, next to IL2 , A20  kicks *** in fights takes a beating turns well and shreads anythin right in front of it.

A-20s are surprisingly maneuverable. A contemporary, '43 109 or 190 would actually have a hard time killing it if the A-20 is really up for a fight.

A-20 is very maneuverable BUT....I find the wings rip off very easy...

then again i still fly with stall limiter so you guys without limiter may find it very different.....

regardless....the a-20 can turn like  a bat out of hell...

its also very fun to kill Bullz when he is flying his gay20 =)

That and under 25% fuel makes you surprisingly nimble. Shedding all the extra weight before going into "fighter mode" is the key. You'll be just another helpless bomber if you still have eggs or are heavy on fuel. Use a little rudder to help with roll rate too.

What he is talking about, and what has been complained about before, is the fact that even with a few MG hits the Boson (and I have heard complaints regarding the A20) will explode. Recently was fooling around in an MG only HTH room. Had some fun with SBD vs Ju87, but then tried Boston. It's okay as a platform, but you get all these BS instant deaths. I come in on a Ju88 and I get 3 pilot wounds in the process (no hits going to the cockpit!). I fly it and fight in it for a while, and odd hits from ANY angle will kill. In a HO pass where I ***only*** hit Ik3's port wing and engine, he blew up from a pilot kill. In strange fuselage hits (from any angle, any quarter) you will die from an instant pilot kill.

That's what Ik3 is referring to.

Even that is a friggen tank... when compared to the Mosquito catch on fire bull poop.

The thing with the Boston is it has .303 and was nto a very good aircraft in WWII. Now they A20 was a different story. But the Boston was an easy kill even in real life.

OK, where are all those one-shot-easy-kill-planes you guys keep talking about???

A few weeeks ago i hashed it out with an a20. Took my poor little Hurris hispanos FOEVER to take the plane apart. Hits all over but youd think sooner or later one of those parts woulda fallen off....


(And before anyones says it: yes, i know, concentrate fire on one point... just isnt always that easy)


PS: I know sometimes it feels like the plane just needs to see a 303 from afar and falls apart at the seams... happens to all of us.

I think he is really talking about the Boston, the A20 is just fine from my experience.  There was a scenario once using Bostons and my lonely 190 took out 16 of them by myself.  This is in one flight, no rearm.  Even using my 2 mg's just a few rounds would cause the Bostons to blow up like powder kegs.
