WWII weekend!!!
« on: May 09, 2005, 09:23:47 AM »
It's that time of year again , and the mid-atlantic air musem in Reading, PA. is having it's WWII weekend!
It will be held June 3-4-5 click the link at the bottom of the page for more info.
It's a great time, and they have some great planes there every year, as well as full incampments with 100's of re-inactors complete with real M16's , Lvt's, Fp's and numerous trucks jeep and vintage motorcycles.
Some of the planes include:
B-17
3 yes 3 -B25's
yak-9
51's
tbm's
wildcat
hurri
bearcat
hellcat
spit
p-38
snj's{T-6}there were 8 of these that did formation flying last year! 8 radials screaming by 100 ft off the deck is an awsome sound!!!!!
And the air museum is in the middle of restoring what will be the ONLY flyable P-61 Blackwidow!!! Come and see the progress that has already been made on this rare WWII bird.

If anyone from the arena is already planing to go, let me know and we can get together at the resturant at the airport and knock back a couple! It sits right next to the runway, and you can watch the planes take-off and land while having a beer....what could be better!

Hopefully the weather will be better than last year.

I won't be able to attend this year, my wife and I are in Jamaica during that weekend.

Anyone that goes get lots of pics.

Oh Man,

I swore up and down, I would attend last years.

I looked ahead on my work schedule, and I have the 4th and 5th off.

Looks Iffy, but I'll try.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

It has worked out well in the past to meet outside the officers' club at a particular time, for example, 1:00 p.m.

Drano is your best bet for organizer - he has the t-shirt with his name on it.
