Cedar Point Amusement Park
« on: May 09, 2005, 03:08:34 PM »
My wife & I have decided to take 4 of our neices and nephews to Cedar Point.  After letting the kids know what we were up to, we looked up prices online & found it to be $45.00 per person.   Oops.  Anybody have a line on cheaper tickets?

Thanks,

Glove

I've always gone through AAA.  A few years ago it was 29.99 each.

If you can go you won't be disappointed, in many ways it is much better than Disney. It has things the kids will like as well as attractions for adults.

The cedar point website also allows you to buy them online for a small discount ($40).

It's a great place.  If your family is into roller coasters, you'll absolutely love it.

Of course, it's best on a weekday because the lines are short.  Weekends can see 2 hour lines on a nice day.

The best time I ever had there was on a cloudy day that the weather folks had predicted rain.  I don't think I was in line for anything more than 10 minutes.  And it never rained, so no rides were shut down.

THE GEMINI!!!!!!!

joy.

wish i could join you.

best bet is to call area hotels and chamber of commerce, they can usually direct you to the appropriate venue.  this time of year grocery stores seem to have them IIRC.

they are there, you just gotta look.  you'll probably find something when you get there.

have a great time.

I'd definately say it's one of the best roller coaster parks on the planet. I know some people that don't like hypercoasters in general.. but man, where else are you gonna ride a steam catapult to 120mph outside of a CV?

Jeeze, when I was a kid Cedar Point was like 15 bucks for adults lol.  I dont even remember it being that great.  When did it become such a roller coaster mecca?  I saw a commercial for it on one of the cable channels the other night and I didnt even recognize the place (of course, last time I saw it was like 25-30 years ago too).

It's got more coasters than anywhere else in the world, I believe, and they've been building them at a rate of one every 2-3 years for as long as I've been going to the place.

It's definately a roller coaster mecca.  It's sweet.

I hope you aren't a very big person because some of the newer rides don't allow big people on them.

You don't even have to be fat just larger than the normal 6' 180lbs person.

I went last year and I couldn't fit on half the rides. Granted I'm 6'1" 290lbs but the reason I didn't fit the newer ones was because they have small seat belts that are designed to fit "Normal" people.

Hell I'm used to not being able to ride rides because of my shoulders and chest but now they say I have a fat ass?!

To say the least I was very pissed but they said it was on their web site so it was my own fault.

6'1" 290lbs 62" shoulders and 42" waist.
