i keep posting updats, and from now on only in this thread.

before i go any further, i am concerned about these rivet lines. i dont have an actual reference other than what others have done. as mentioned the pics i have (probably 50+) they dont really show at all, so being as detailed as the panel lines is not possible

i have always felt (no offense intended) that many skinners make them too strong, or too many (at least too many visible)

the liberties i took on this top wing is what i am concerned about. the fuselage is actually pretty accurate from the pics i have. especially the h stab and rudder. i know the vert stab is missing a line or 2.

well anyway since this is my first skin (and i am going to make it perfect LOL) i would like to know what you think good AND bad. edbert mentioned the access panel on the right side, but the line drawings i have it is accurate. any other comments?

<> and thank you for your help

Should have used the pen tool, instead of pencil tool.

Pen tool sucks in depicting straight lines, but is superior in depicting curved or slanted lines.

So one should use the pencil tool for depicting lines that go straight up/down or left/right, but switch to the pencil tool whenever it gets curved, or angled.

It's much more tedious and time-consuming, but the visual results are far superior than using just pencil tool to do everything.

cc... will give it a shot. though i have a concern the lines will get too "strong"

i'll shoot for a 1 pixel "soft" edge on each side

I personally think.... Well I have mixed thoughts.

On the one hand they look "reasonable", and logical. On the other there are so many of them. Looking at the default skins on the 190As there are many rivets there too.

So I say leave them, but (naturally) put them on a separate layer, so that people can edit them as needed. Just a suggestion.

Panel lines and rivets, are only a small part of the overall skin.

Panel lines that look clear, or rivets that look bumpy is important too, but IMHO, seeing jagged, 'staired' panel lines is much more upsetting than AAd lines that might look a lil' bit thick. (and such thickness, can be retouched by visual cosmetics in later stages of the skinning, but however, jagged lines cannot be hidden).

Waffle's default 190 skins were one of the best skin works I've ever seen, but the only, single thing that was a bit erratic, was that he also used the non AAd pen tool to depict panel lines.

Kweassa, using AAd 1-pixel lines is simply ineffective. It makes the line much less opaque and when you're dealing with filter options and opacity and editing etc etc, you need a solid color over the entire layer to get consistent results. Thus you have to work in unAAd lines. It's the best we can do at these resolutions.

Ok i will post this again! lol i dont know if this will help but i think you should try it.

First off you should always use a million colors then when your done go to 256.

For sideways panel i use the pen tool here is a picture
I marked it with blue what you should check or uncheck.

To make rivets you click on the line style and customize them and have your own style. I use about 7 space and i make oppacity low. here is a picture.

thanks spade. im cool on making the rivets, but i was worried someone wound say "there's not enough of them" LOL

update MAN im soo anal....

here's my new wya of making sure pixel by pixel of each segement "end point" meaning, when im done the background layer will have outlined of eveyr panel, so all you have to do is color the camo

i dont care anymore if anyone wants to use this template LMFAO i want it for me to be perfect.

MAN im anal

BTW Kweassa, i did some softening, and i got what looks like a good AA... once there is some color to the body i will post what i got. oh yeah.. are you thinking im making this in 2048x2048? im working in 1024, and getting above 2-3 pixels for lines is pretty thick. i'll post a pic soon once there is color

Krusty... they are on a seperate layer. the pic is just to show the lines of them. they are nowhere near what others have done. here's a pic of another template, and see all those rivet lines? it is just too much for me IMHO

<> all TY for the comments it is greatly appreciated, and taken into consideration
