"Where's Jed Bush when you need him?"...

Apparently this was one of the phrases uttered by William Hague, leader of the Conservatives, when he realised the election was a land-slide victory for Labour (again).

 :D

You'll be pleased to know that Tony Blair, pseudo-Socialist and leader of New Labour, has won an enormous victory only tarnished by the low turnout (49%).

Labour are now unstoppable - they have 170 seats more than all the other parties put together.

The next 5 years are going to see some big changes:

1) Introduction of the Euro instead of Pound Sterling.

2) Partial privatisation of the National Health Service

3) More Public-Private Partnerships - i.e. privatisation through the back door

4) Phased abolishment of the House of Lords (our second 'House').

Who can stop them now?

Wow... "pseudo-Socialist" in the US means you lean towards Socialism... not away from it.

This guy sounds more like a republican/democrat hybrid.

Fatty - Doh!  :)

DejaVu - 'pseudo-' as in the dictionary definition.  ;)

He is apparently socialist rather than in actuality.

But New Labour's policies are not all bad - the loss of the pound doesn't bother me in the slightest if it is good for the economy of Britain.

I may be both English and British, but I'm also European.

But I don't like the idea of a weak opposition - it's a shame the Conservatives couldn't have fought the election on true issues rather than those derived from passing band-wagons.

If you'll let that pound fall, I might just come back over there.  Was expensive as hell last time.

Interesting.  The push here is usually to socialize more of our health care, and there's a push in UK to privatize some of your health care.  Grass is always greener syndrome perhaps?

And which Bush are you referring to?  GW is the President and Jeb is the governor of Florida.

I think William Hague (the Torry cadidate {he spoke at the Republican National Convention last year, BTW}) was saying that he needed Jeb Bush to rig the election for him the way some people assert Jeb rigged the Florida election for George W.

Makes sense now!  Betcha Jeb is wishing he didn't fix the election for big bro after GW is trying to put oil rigs just off our coast!   ;)
