Time for a better a8?

Well i was thinking since the revamped p38's fit in nicely now, just suppose we had a a8 with mw50. I think it would be a nice fit for the ma with some extra speed and climb. Maybe before it would have unbalanced the arena but maybe not now?

So what do you think

There was no Fw190A fitted with MW50s. At least, in regular, squadron strengths.


 At least, that's the conclusion these boards reached a long time ago.

Isnt Fw-190A-8 suppose to be faster than Fw-190A-5? I saw a thread long time ago that indicates that Fw-190A-8 is faster than A-5 on deck and alt.

Well..

 In AH1, our Fw190A-5 was faster than the A-8 at alt, but the A-8 was faster than the A-5 at deck.

 Not sure how much that changed in AH2.

the 190a5 and a8 have the same engine.

the 190a5 is lighter
but, the 190a8 can push its engine to higher pressures so its faster.

above certien altitude, the air is too thin to maintain the higher pressure, so the engine powers of the 2 190s are the same and the lighter a5 pulls away.

atleast thats what i understand from the boards, feel free to correct me :)

schiz, if you want a much better 190A8, then ask for a 190A9. BTW, 11 months ago Pyro expresed his intentions to redo the FM of the 190 family. Still waiting :rolleyes:

190A-4 (or was it A-3?) had MW50, but apparently A-5 didn't.

A4. What it is not clear is the advantage of MW50 over C3 injection.

From what I understand MW50 acted like an antifreeze for the lines or some such something mumblemumble.

What I want is MG131s modeled! Mini-canon! More punch than 13mms, but not so strong as 20mms. Hey, every little boost helps!

AH's 190A-8 and D-9 have two of them.  I'd rather have the option to get rid of them, they're dead weight most of the time :)

You're not confusing the 131 with the 151/15?

Yes, 190A8 and F8. At least current ata values correspond to those of real BMW801D2 with C3 injection.
