at high A-o-A and below 280 mph, does anyone notice 109-like characteristics (hmm like 109G-10) in spit 14 when trying to turn?

It's probably due to the torque. All planes in AH2 developed some kind of stability issues when nearing stall condtions - much stronger than it used to be in AH1.

Even the Hurricane or the Zeke can enter a quite violent stall if you push it too far.

ps) make right-hand turns in Spit14s. Them props turn the other way around.

The SpitXIV suffers from torque more than any other AH plane, and makes it a very unstable gun platform, especially at low speeds.  I've always felt that more planes should suffer torque effects like the spit, but few others do.

I bet the toning down of the torque effect is intentional, for playability reasons. I'm generally for realism but I admit that I don't mind having less torque in AH.

I seem to remember the torque effect was toned down during the public beta period.

Spit14 in AH is trash.

it would be a good plane if it wasnt perked but the perk tag makes it worthless.

TnB spit : mk1/5/seafire

E-fighter spit: mk9

useless spit: mk14
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

I have never seen a worthless Spit in the MA yet.

Most of them are worth several perkies when you shoot them down.  And the Spit14 is worth a whole bunch of perkies... LOL

Spitfire = Target :)

A Slow Spitfire = A better target. :aok

Yep, learning is always painful :(

But it does help make you a better fighter pilot. :)

Believing your six is clear is not unlike believing that a gun is not loaded. Both can get you killed if you get complacent.

Learn to spend more time checking all views than just humming a tune and watching your propeller. If you need to sit there on your flight home watching something, make it your tail.

The Spit 14 is actually a hell of an E-fighter, one of the best in the game in my opinion.

i assume the same thing, and i dont like it. Things like this dont lend AH much credibility in the sim community.

This is probably why the planes take off by themselves.

for realistic arenas i think the physics should be realistic as well, in ma it doesnt really matter, but for tod and squad events i sure hope things are pushed more towerds realism.

I can see why there is less torque; for new users since it is something that might turn alot of ppl away when first getting into ah, but im sure vet pilots would enjoy the more realistic flight model.

Heh, remember the 109 in the early AH2 beta? If we had that torque model back the 38 would be the only plane in the MA.
