So this is where all the AW pilots are :)
« on: May 12, 2005, 03:13:20 AM »
I've just arrived on the scene and did a search on Kesmai and found hundreds of messages about the original grand daddy WWII air combat sim :D
I'm pleased to see so many names from the past.  Unfortunately it's been so long since I've though about AW that I don't remember my handle(s). I've been doing Nascar online for about the last 5 years.
I may have been Alky in the period during  AOL and Gamestorm, not sure though.  I started in the DOS version and ended up with Gamestorm and have every boxed version with manuals including the DOS version :)
I've only tried AH for an hour or so and find it to be a cross between AW and Warbirds. I never could get used to the jumpy skittish flight model in Warbirds so it's going to take a while to get in the groove here I guess.
I see GD is here, one of the best around, I was taken out many times by his blazing guns and was only able to scratch the paint on his bird a few times LOL.
See you all in the skys :D

Welcome Alky!  I recently realised I've now been playing AH longer than I played AW!  (Only started AW in 1998)  :D

Welcome! :)

Drop into the training arena or shoot me an email and we can get your stick set up for views and get rid of the nose bounce.

You still owe me a pint of paint for touching up my plane! ;)

Welcome aboard and  think you will like AH. Just takes a bit getting used too but once you settle in and get use to the gunnery and the FE it is great.

Oh, and currently I am experimenting with the P38G and P38J and getting my bellybutton handed to me alot as try to master those two planes.

So bring more paint for me .. got a lot of touch up to do. ;)

Thanx for the warm welcome guys, this just seems too good to be true, maybe it's just a dream :)
I was thinking about this going to bed last night... outside of AW no one ever heard the terms, "dweeb"  or "get a clue rake", folks thought I was losin' it when tried to use them LOL.
Well, I have a lot to learn, so I better get at it :)

Welcome Alky. I flew FR in AW for a long time when it was on delphi, never on AOL tho. There are a lot of us AW types in here now, and maybe even some old AW squads too. Lots of folks will help, and just like AW, there is a steep learning curve at first but, you are familiar with that.

Whaddya mean "at first"? Been playing AH since beta, and WB for years before that, the curve is STILL steep...LOL.

Welcome Alky!

Welcome Alky. Yep, this is where most of us ended up since Kesmai was put out of business. It has much of the character of AW with similar handling planes, many of the same players, and an owner who's one of us. Personally, I came here when the beta was introduced. I had been waiting a long time for HiTech to get Confirmed Kill online =o)
