Im about the same I think as my parets were 30 years ago when my dad was 30 as I am now.

But its not really fair to compare cause norway then and now are completly different.

They had a house, summerhouse a small boat + 1 car and had worked very hard for it.

I have 2 houses (one is payed for in full) a car and a boat but more spare time then they had...ie worked less for it.

My dad was a Q&A engineer for the Apollo program here at JSC.  No matter how much money I make he will always be better off than me just on job satisfaction alone.  Money isn't everything.  In fact, the stories he has of Apollo 13 alone were incredible.  I can't think of another job I'd rather do than be a part of the Apollo program.

Auto insurance, medical is all going up due to law suites.

What medical? According to lazs nobody needs to pay for medical care in US if they don't want to.

what the article is missing is that there are a lot of Americans who don't even know who their parents are.

There is an even larger group who were not raised by their original parents.   The ones coming out on this are divorce lawyers.  They are taking the money that would be used to make it possible for more children to get ahead.

Now... One other thing... we are into electronics.  Are we better off?  our parents had non of the stuff we have now... Multi billion dollar companies and multi millionairs didn't have the electronic gadgetry we have..

we can watch a first run movie on a 62" TV with surround sound on DVD every day if we want... we are right now instantly communicating with people from around the world... we all drive newer cars than our parents that are ten times more capable..  we probly travel more and have bigger and better homes.

we have extra cars and boats and ski doos and motor homes...

we do whine more than they do/did tho.

wow... sciaf... in lower slobovia where you live they give out free car insurance... wonder what that costs in tax money...

I think it is laughable for people sitting in front of a computer of which is 100's of times more powerful than the ones our parents paid taxes for to send a man to the moon... I think it is odd in the extreme that we are writing this across cyberspace... I guess if this whine isn't heard byu enoug people we can allways get on the cell phone and bother someone.

raised by single parents, and foster care,

we were on welfare for a while. i was always in trouble after i hit my teens.
if it wasnt for the millitary id probably be in prison or dead by now...

i have three kids and they have it way better than i did growing up.

Aw crap, I am calander challenged.

Flying in on Sunday the 5th, free most of Monday the 6th, busy the 7th and home on the 8th.
