lols like maybe tough to see foward@high angle of attack.  did it ever have a carrier trial?

I don't think they ever had an actual carrier trial, and I've heard conflicting reports with regard to the view on landing. I believe the Navy was more concerned with maintaining and supplying a "twin" while at sea.

I would think it would be easier to see forward. The canopy opens like the wild cat and there is no engine right worward. Front left and front right will be worse for sure, But right forward would be better I would think.

actually, onsidering LSOs, left may be more imortant than foward

But they produced the Tigercat.  I believe the Skyrocket had a lot of development problems in trials, especially with engine overheating.  By the time these were resolved, F6Fs and F4Us were already being ordered.  They ended up using a lot of the data collected from the project on the F7F design.  I'm glad they never produced the F5F, it's one ugly plane. :p

Yes, they produced the Tigercat for the Midway class carriers I believe.
