Our setups wouldn't allow it. Now you have to at least be at a steady speed to calibrate. That's something. Originally you didn't even need that.

Krusty, it took some work and a GREAT instructional post by kwessaa but many in our squad were able to drop with the same accuracy we drop with now...  you just had to set up the run better in advance.

I dunno.  I think Im one of the rare few buff drivers that actually climbs to 10k or higher, enters target area, drops ord and tries to make it home.

It seems a lot go on in NOE or low alt.  And if they are having successful runs, all the power to em.

Buffs arent that hard to shoot down, if you swat these low guys down enough times, they'll either give up bombing or try a new approach...such as higher alts.

Yes, it was "harder"... But don't mistake that with what some of us had, which was "impossible". We did it literally perfectly and bombs never hit anywhere close.

HT or Skuzzy or somebody tried to help one of "us" out and finally said "You can't do it with your current hardware".

Sadly, I fell into this group.

Back in Ah1 (when we had worthwhile targets) it was one of my favorite things to team up with another player for extreme high alt lanc runs on the enemy HQ. Remember back then we didn't have formations either. Hell I got a screenshot of a fully loaded lancaster at 26k.

Anyways... Once you got up to a certain alt, you were all but invisible. Nobody ever intercepted me above 15k. Once I passed 10k I breathed easier. You will RARELY ever find a bird at 20k. Unless it's some milk running dweeb-tard in a fully loaded F4u4 that's going to dive to the deck, pickle all weapons, hit WEP and wet his pants (not in that order). :rofl
