This photo was taken out in the Mohave. It was used as a publicity shot for the Army. Those A-20s WERE flying as low as they appear. However, the P-40s were added, cut and pasted from this photo:

I thought I did a decent job of integrating the images and this is confirmed by many people believing that is was the A-20s that were tampered with!!!!

The original photo was obtained from the U.S. Army Center of Military History.
