Maybe it's my imagination spurred on by a love for the Thundebolt but I see the edges as being smoother over all and a higher level of detail - wheel wells etc. (except that starboard wing tip. Is that a point or is it a light on the end of the wing)
Although I do wish they'd have added working cowl cooling flaps (instead of interior moving parts) That part of the P-47 still looks "old" because they're graphically represented with lines and are not real shapes. Much like how the Griffon engined Spit XIV cowl "lumps" were created via graphics and were not an actual detail on the forward fuselage.
