Hey Elyeh, this is the
Dealio on AH Film Making:Download Fraps (it captures your AH video)
Run Aces High Film Viewer: C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II
(make sure you have some video's recorded from ingame)
Then once you have these two programs, simply open an AH Film recording in the film viewer, start Fraps, and once everything is in place, press F9 to start Frap's film capture. All your Frap's captured films will be placed in a folder that you specify. To change this folder, click on the media tab on the Fraps program and select "change".
Your Aces High Film recordings are in your Films File in the HTC folder: C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II\films
To get the shots you want, play around with the Aces High Film Viewer. Press all the buttons to see what they do and soon enough you will have a good understanding on how to capture the shots you want.
Editing the video you capture is a whole other story. I used Windows Movie Maker on "Ska Flyin" and Sony Vegas on "Born to Run". If you have windows XP (which Im sure you do), then use Windows Movie Maker to edit your video. Play around with the editing program in order to learn its capabilities (if you have any questions on Windows Movie Maker, let me know).
Once your movie is edited and done, save your movie as a whole by clicking on the "Save Movie File..." selection inside the "File" dropdown on the top-left hand side of Windows Movie Maker. Select the settings you want to encode and save your movie as, and walla! You're done!
If you have any further questions on this issue, lemme know Elyeh and I will gadly help you out.
Tips on AH Film Making:1. A good starting point for your movie would be, for example, taking off or being leveled out heading towards a target and a good ending, for example, would be landing or hitting your target. Anything that seems as a good setting for a start and finsh in your story. Use your creativity!
2. Try to clip your shots so that it only shows the shots you want. Watching someone switch to different angles doesn't add to the story and it ends up being pointless and unintresting to watch. Unless, of course, you want the added effect of some panning shots.
3. Pick your music appropriately! If your movie is fast-paced, choose some punk-rock or fast-paced music! If your at a part in your film where you are heading to target, dont choose the fast-paced songs where slow, build-up type songs would appropriate.
4. Lasty, if it's possible, try not to include game glitches, it degrades your film.
Overall, just watch some good real-life movies and see how directors shoot and clip their films and apply it to Aces High movies. Also try to bring-out the story in your movie. Every movie has an interesting story, otherwise it reminds people of the some old dull life that they could live themselves. If your movie is about killing 6 guys, somehow emphasize on that issue! For example: Every kill you make, have it count the number kill on the screen. Most importantly, use your creativity!
Good luck!
