Absynth (sp?) isn't that bad. Not the fancy stuff they sell in the tourist shops mind you... the real stuff that drives you crazy. I think there are opiates in it, be warned.

absent is a plant. the hallucination and "dangerous" part of the plant is the root. which is illegal, the rest of the plant is ok, and you can still get.

me and my friends bought a 90% alcohol absent and finished it just so we could say we did :D  we where young and stupid, actually we are still young and stupid.

There's actually many different herbs in absinthe, but the most important ingredient is thujone.  The "real stuff" is legal in many parts of Europe and it's made at least in Spain and Czecs republic.  I have a bottle of Spanish absinthe and it gives a nice different kind of buzz if you take a few shots.

I was always under the impression that "real" absinth had wormwood, which causes hallucenations.
