instead of taking the lighter color and making it the bottom paint, make the wings their normal color and then weather over them, by weather i dont mean scrathcs i mean fading, dirt, and oil. Think how the scratches would form and why the wings are that faded and work it in!

i'd have some off-color remark about you and you inability to do most anything right in this world, including getting a job to earn money so you can actually PLAY aces high instead of troll the boards like a lost puppy dog. you know when you get to hish school there are usually alot more kids, many you have never met. it is entirely possible you will find at least 1 that is willing to be a friend, stranger things have happened.

until that day, leave you feeble attempts at criticism to yourself. what have you ever done to help the game other than be an example of the worst kind of person involved in aces high?

i actually darkened them from the paint chips i got.

that's the color tweaks i am working on. the only one that looks right in game is the brown

there is still a TON of work to do.

the ebst, i hear what you are saying, but going any darker on the base colors will make it hard to get the rightcolor later, i'm playing wiht layers with black dropped to 4% - 8% or less opacity, darkening the overall look, while retaining the original hues and stuff.

I rather play the game then help.

Thats why I don't like to help you.  You expect too much from others while rarely returning the favor.

Back on topic:

JB, its looking great!  I have a few suggestions though.  I'd make the rivets more visible.  I know you worked your arse off to get those right and now you're not gonna show em off? :)

Also, have you tried http://www.skinnersheaven.com/ for color palletes?  Most of the time they are fairly accurate.  You can always go back and tweak them a little more if need be.

Found a site that may be of use to you if you haven't already seen it:

great find!! <> TY

yeah, i used these:
http://www.skinnersheaven.com/

http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/colorcharts.asp

and my book to get the colors... the "grunblau" on the fuselage (RLM 84) there seems to be some serious discepencies in the actual color, so i decided to go with the book, it looks the best

i'm finding the burning in of the exhaust and stuff to be a real pain, it never seems to look right. i also am afraid to tackle the bellyof the plane's "natural metal". the models i have seen it is real dark, not shiny, and i have no clue where to begin with that. (that's why i havent posted pics of the bottom of the plane LOL)

here's a new update (i think there are some marked improvments):

(PS MAN picture hangar is slow tonight lol waiting 2 minutes to upload)

I don't know what to put here yet.

The wing and fuselage colors seem to be balanced out pretty well, but the cowl green is much too deep and unnatural as a camo scheme.

Also, take heed that the colors of the fuselage is distinctly different than the wings, which doesn't seem to be much noticeable in your case.

In almost every case, a model is a much better source for determining colors than a pure profile pic - the modellers themselves are researchers of color schemes, not to mention that they also provide some great insight on what kind of weathering is applied where.

IMO, the weathering you've applied for exahust fumes are much unnatural, and sort of stands out - as compared to the general quality of weathering on the rest of the plane... which is very clean, and seems unlikely for a D-9 scheme of such late war era. Notice how the model looks overall clean, but delicately "beat up", which gives out a nice aura of what kind of condition the aircraft is in. These are one of the subtle details you must pay attention to.

Judging by the Hakenkreuz on the wings, this is a '45 craft, and I'm quite curious what kind of Hakenkreuz you've used at the underside of the wing. Common mistakes are made at that part.

All in all, try to make it look EXACTLY like the model - it would offer good results and much higher quality of plane depiction.

Lookin great 73!  I'd fly it when you get it finished.

Jet... that was pretty lame man.  Has nothing to do with helping or not, this is work he does in his free time to enhance everyone's gameplay...  Maybe manners is something they haven't taught you in school yet.
