Ok I know most of you probably don't follow the show.  Most of the previous seasons I quite watching half way through because I hated the contestents.  This year was quite different though.

I like the show because it's something I can at least stand to watch AND more importantly it's something I can watch with my wife.  Thus something we both like to watch while we "spend time together"

Ok to the point.  This year they raised the entrence age to 28 and had some REALLY good contestents.  To top it off the finale show tonite featured a guy into southern Alabama rock and a girl that was into country (she's quite easy on the eyes if I might add).  BOTH of them can sing very well to say the least and I just have to say this was a great "reality type show" were two people who diserved to be were they were are there.

Anyone else watch this year or am I in an extreme minority here?

My name is Cougar and I watch American Idol.

You're right, there was some good talent in there.  I would give my right, ahem, "dangling participle" to have been the one to discover Carrie Underwood.  Bo has the stage presence, but Carrie's voice is pure and untouched.  Going to be killer in the studio.

Is American Idol still on the air?

I watch very, very few "reality" shows, but NBC has one coming up that looks promising. "Hit Me Baby One More Time" is going to have a bunch of washed up bands from the 80's- 90's like Loverboy, Vanilla Ice, Tiffany, ect., trying to get one more shot at the bigtime. Could be worth watching.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

If I didn't have to work late, I would've watched the finale this evening and voted for Carrie Underwood.

no need to explain.

95% of the men on this BBS think they're macho, red-blooded Americans who are "independent" even though they actually just do whatever the next red-neck does to fit in.
