Amusing?
« on: May 26, 2005, 02:31:20 AM »
I don't know if it's amusing, or just sad, that I can return here after probably more than a year and see the same arguments, whining, *****ing, etc that I've been seeing for over a decade of online combat flight sims.

Guess it wouldn't be a combat sim discussion board without people moaning about runners & vulchers.  Certainly wouldn't be a HT designed game board without guys who don't understand how the collision detection has to work, or crying about HO's.

Same stuff, different names.

Heh.  It never changes.

Woof,

Maybe it just goes to show how much people care about this game?

Which, in my opinion, is a good thing, no matter the whine.

Well there ARE threads devoted to the finer aspects of the game, such as how to pull particular moves, fly a certain plane well, and how to avoid this and that, but they are few and far between, as I am sure you will come to find great fights are in the MA.

It is an amusing coincidence.

Did I say I was surprised?

One could interpret my post as an admonishment to those who don't bother to do a little searching.  Those who assume that they're the first person in the history of online flight sims to be putting forth this particular complaint.

Or one could interpret it as an observation about how things never change and that these boards provide a familiar haven no matter how long one's been away from the sim.

So with other words, we need a special whine-forum so others can ignore it? :D
