Colt AR15a2 carbine.. light, handy, reliable and accurate.

Winchester 94 Trapper, 44 magnum. Another fast handling rifle, walnut and steel to boot.

The gun dealers got the  the cream. Most of the SLRs that ended up in the gunshop racks were well and truely flogged out. More than a few that I checked  had bores that were so worn they were almost smoothbore. The army sure got there moneys worth out of them. $200 still would have been a good deal, SLRs are fetching $1000 to $1500 these days even if they are not in pristine condition. An AR15 costing $1500 back in the mid 80's will fetch $6000 to $7000 today if it's in origional condition, talk about great little earners...if only we had of known.

Being British and all, I guess I'm supposed to say 'knife and fork, or some scissors'? :D

Remington Model 870 Pump shotguns.

First one I got was 20ga, cut stock off to fi, still my favorite for shooting slugs at deer, or other large objects.

12 ga trap model, extra high rib, double beads, 30 " barrel, full choke. Anything inside of 70 yards is in major danger when this girl is loaded. Mostly used it to shoot trap, but I have a nice assortment of duck & goose loads for it.  Its the one thats loaded standing 2 feet from my bed.

Last is a 16 Ga that my grandfathers brother in law owned. He willed it to me many years ago. Grandma found it abd a letter after grandpa died.  No rib, plain jane, this gun has seen years of service and is smooth as silk. I've shot a few pidgeon & Pheasant with it. Mostly it sits in a place of honor to remind me of an old man & a boy who loved to fish together.

Rifles have come & gone in my life, but its the shotguns that have the most meaning for me.

don't mess with lazs.

;)

Vulcan.. yep.. the FN's were mighty. I wuz envious. ;) The effect it had was similar to the BAR. Security detail I was out with one day caught some hostiles in the open.. started poppin away with the M-16's fom waay out. The lil gomers didn't even bother to scurry faster. Then the squad auto guy said 'watch this...'

*KRUMP*KRUMP*KRUMP*...... *KRUMP*KRUMP*KRUMP*

Was like magic. The gomers vanished. He didn't hit anything.. but we didn't see any more gomers that day.
