Great fights between Rooks and Knights between 40-42 tonight. Lots of low and medium-high stuff, gun battles between fleets, PT's... was great stuff.

Yup saw lots of F4U's- I flew one all night, and loved it! Of course I died a lot, but hey, there were some nice fights in there too. <S!> All!

Great fun...

Was there too Kieren.. think I got you once with my Yak

I also got a ton of Spits and Typhoons from A39.  Think I ended up with 4 F4u-1C kills, 3 spit IX kills, 2 Seafire kills, 2 yak9 kills, 1 b-17 kill (Rip ), 1 kill on a fishing C-47, a death to a typhoon and a death to a spit IX... oh.. and 2 deaths to b-17's.

I'm sure you guys saw a tad more N1Ks than we did.  Just as we saw a tad more F4u-1Cs than you did

That battle lasted for 2 hours at least.  Until we got your port and your cv that is  AKs are mean when they get bored

I wish I could have been there to bomb the fighter hangars.

Yes, you did, AK. Was a real mess over our port, but since you guys didn't get our CV I took the F4 over and over... we were badly positioned alt-wise and I needed all the ammo I could carry.

We hadn't lost the port while I was there, and we were about to get 40 when I left. Guess I left too soon. Dammit, this "real life" stuff always has to get in the way...

yep... now that was a furball!  I had a blast.  It was allmost too intense.  at one point the acks from the fleet and the acks from the field allmost overlapped.   I flew a 1d the whole time and had plenty of fights.  Not much vultcching but a lot of very intense fights.

ak... do you realy think your killing the port and the cv was appreciated or even skilled?   That's not what I was hearing on private.   They were saying "bring the cv back"  Had to say "can't, some attention starved dipshit killed the port".   the green guys didn't kill the field the whole time.  It would have been quite simple to kill your hangers...  maybe if you were bored you coulda just went somewhere else instead of ruining it for the rest?

See how just a couple of guys can spoil it for a lot?

LOL Lazs.. what a selective memory you have.  Any guesses as to how many of your side's C47's were shot down at 40?  Or how many times the FH were taken out at 40?  Or if we ever had ack up at that field?

Of course you don't.  You were able to fly for two hours doing exactly what you wanted because of the work of others.  When that stopped, you then blame others.  Everyone else is responsible to ensure you have your apropriate level of fun.

We are bad guys for taking a port and a fleet.  A port that was 4 miles from your fleet at the time.  A port that was defended by Spit9s, Yaks and La5s (not a single CV fighter).  We took it without coming in massive force or with a massive alt advantage.  It was a fun fight.  Sorry you missed it.  I'm sure nobody was asking for help defending it.  But why should you help.. you don't care about that anyways? ...until its captured.  Then its the fault of the guys that took it.

It amazes me that you play in this arena as it is set up right now and criticize people for playing differently.  Is it everyone else's responsibility to ensure you are having the kind of fun you deem apropriate?  Are you so obtuse that you can't realize that there is more to this game than you are willing to accept?

Whatever happens to this arena in the future doesn't matter right now.  Right now it exists in its present form and you get mad at people around you because of it.  God forbid you should ever have to do anything that you don't deem fun in the arena.  I guess that's everyone else's job.

Well, FWIW I make no apologies for what I rode. It was the best plane for the job at the time (busting up any attempt to take 42). I think when you got me, AK, I was at the end of a 7-kill, and they were all trying to CAP that base for a gooney. Of course I expect no apology for the Nikki's you guys had, they were great planes for what you needed done.

See? We all had fun, despite all our differences. Why do we have to over-analyze why that could be better or worse or whatever... just have fun!

BTW.. one thing that some people might not realize.  This battle occured because one side was trying to take a field.  And because the other side was vigorously defended.  It did not happen because someone decided there'd be a great furball if they just parked a CV near a field and sent up fighters to meet the enemy midway.

Ah.. I didn't mean to criticize anyone for their choice of rides.  Half the AKs were in N1Ks or F4u-1Cs.  Was just pointing out that one type launches from a field while the other launches from a CV  I don't play the elitist ride criticizing role some find so convenient.  I know you don't either <S>

Hey AKDejaVu, right here in these two paragraphs, you just made lazs' point in 'that other thread'.

I was in that furball, having a blast, playing the game I like.  You were playing the game you like.  But when you 'won' your game of taking the port, it ended my game.

Ya see, I don't want to have to 'work' to make sure I have a fun place to fight.  I want to have fun fighting.

And you missed the point entirely.

You were riding along on the efforts of others.  Someone was actually trying to take 40.. that's why an enemy fleet was there. That's why our fleet kept returning. That's why the ack and hangars at 40 were down most of the time.  It wasn't to accomodate furballers.  It was simply a battle where furballers could have fun.

One side won that battle.  As a result, people who were too upset to fly 4 minutes to a fight somewhere else logged off.  And this is used as a justification for accomodation by HTC.

Next time try finding another battle.

I cant believe how stupid this got.

Taking fields, taking ports, taking cv's is what the game is about.  At least for alot of guys.

Some might prefer the endless furball, but how can anyone blame or even resent another countries attempt to gain ground???

Its not all about what just what we want, its about what is possible and what players want to do.

Some guys need to open up a little, stop fixating on just what they want.

yep anarky... was fun and either you get it or we are equally stupid.   I believe that deja made my point.   It is he that is the angry one because we wouldn't "help" or "work"  he is the downtroden that does all the work while we fritter away opportunities to..... To what?  take a field? win a war? to what purpose?  for the glory of the reset?

Oh well, I don't question the motive... whatever blows wind up your skirt I guess but... If everyone was there ('cept me and anarky) working their tails off to take the port and fields..... then both sides must have consisted of the most skilless players in AH.... 2 hours???   Are you saying that noone could simply bomb your fighter hanger??? Are you saying that most of the people involved in that melee were glad it was over..  from either side???? I never seen a goon but I'm sure we have people of your ilk too... I did see some ju88's and tbm's and such making runs on the carrier.  Mostlyu tho people were hovering just out of range of enemy acks and trying to kill enemy fighters... I seen plenty of "pure" fighters coming up from the field.

No, he made my point... It doesn't take but one or two guys to ruin a good furball.   I never seen a "need help" message from us green guys... I was kinda busy tho.   I didn't even know, or care,  who owned the field.... They were "reds".   no killshooter on em.  I do know that one bomber from another red field coulda leveled the port with no problem at any time.   I was shocked (and relieved)  it didn't happen.
