My friend Lazs
« on: November 20, 2001, 12:51:00 PM »
Last night, someone told lazs that everyone in AH hated him. I didn't see it nor do I know what prompted the comment. The only way I knew it was said was from lazs. He said it matter of factly and then said nothing else for a long time. Well, maybe 20 or 30 seconds, but that's a long time for lazs, hehe.

I didn't say anything as I was busy at the time. Except for MRWULF!!! you !@#$, I was having a good night doing the low alt drag & bag stuff with lazs.

As I said, I was busy & quite frankly forgot about the whole thing until I revisited Udie's post today about the loss of his friend. Something struck me when reading the additional posts in that thread, it was lazs tone of voice when he told me what was said to him. I replayed the short conversation over in my head and wished I had said something. I started reflecting on the Sept. 11 tragedy and the loss of my father in Sept. Guess this is the mushy side of me.

I didn't say anything then but I am now. I know I'm going to catch a load of toejam from lazs about this but being a crusty old cop for 15 years and the son of a 20 year navy vet, I can handle it.

No, not everyone in AH hates lazs. I call him friend. He is a unique individual. A highly aggressive competitor but I can't recall how many times I've screamed for help & lazs would say "I have no ammo but I'm coming back". He would show up too.  :D

Some of us take ourselves so seriously. Some take things said in the heat of a "game" battle to personally. Some of us are very predictable. It's gotten to the point that I can name those that will respond to a lazs post & pretty much what they will say. It is a topic of humorus conversation between the ancient one & I, lol.

Before knowing lazs back in WB, I always thought his posts were humorus. Rather, the responses he recieved were the funny part. Recognizing the respondant pattern was even more comical. I considered him the master of all button pushers, lol.

We all have a little lazs in us I think. Another person whom I call friend, ripsnort, is much like lazs. rip is a little more...diplomatic  :) but piss him off or be emphatic on the other side of the issue. As a side note, lazs & rip sound alike on rw. Almost identical. Go figure.

Do I think lazs was concerned about the comment? Probably not. I, on the other hand, wanted him & you to know he is my friend, but then again, I like Creamo too, hehehe.

For you "creatures of habit", don't let me down now, ya hear?

I think Laz often makes very good points.

I think he often makes very amusing/funny posts.

I think he DOES know how to "push buttons" on some of the folks around here.

Then there's the times I think he's wrong, he's not funny and he's pressing the button too hard.  ;)

In short, he's like a lot of other guys on the board and in the game!

I hate it when some self appointed burro sphincter speaks for everyone.

Good post Apache. I think I can say there's not many folks I think badly of either here - well cept that psyco EYE and Gunman(XX)  ;) - or anywhere else in the online world - well cept MG and Cabby but anyway...

Lazs is most certainly a goode egg.  Granted he's consistant in what he says and believes.  And right or wrong who can fault that? He will always explain his pov and sometimes folks get thier toes stepped on when he does. In real life I think those folks you could whisper "BOO!" to where upon they'd scurry into a corner and cry about the "badman" anyway.

 Wait.

He did piss me off a LOT some time ago in that he always dragged me while Drex clubbed me like a doe eyed guppy. Damn that Lazs! Fuggin meany  ;)

lazs is a dick... but I don't hate him.  I respect the fact that he's consistant and doesn't care what people think about that.  It can even be fun at times.

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

I have three heroes on this BBS; Lazs, Creamo, and Easymo. I don't always agree with them, but they always seem to capture the essence of the other side succinctly. I admire a well-turned, if coarse, expression. These three are champions of the art, and the place would not be the same without them.

Anyone remember Creamo's magnum opus "Chute-shooting and tears as big as horse turds rolling down your cheeks"? Who can forget his synopsis on what was wrong with pilot art? Comic gold.

lazs is right most of the time

others times hes a dic

I tried to hate him but its impossible since hes right most of the time.  :)

I was there when an ackstar shot him down then started on channel 1 with

"haha how you like buffs now"

"the reason you dont like buffs is you dont know how to attack"

when lazs finally responded the ackstar said

"shut up 99% of ah hates you"

I was but d200 away when the ackstar got him (ackstar and I same country) and when dude went on channel one and said his "ha-has" I typed on channel 1 ackstarrin is gay to which the ackstar said "i wasnt ackstarrin" even though he continually upped at a capped field and being killed numerous times before he got 3k away from the field.

and finally lazs said

"what do you call it"

That is basically the sum totally of it.

Maybe Karnak can take a poll........

I've never disliked lazs. His opinions on bombers and strat are a lot different than mine. And I'm not one of the guys who thinks lazs is usually right. I think he's usually wrong. But I still like him. Who says we have to agree on everything?

BTW...

Everyone knows lazs just wants a no strat arena full of newbies that will always fall for his "follow me while I drag to apache" trick.

Why hate someone for that?

hehe, lazs is a dick even when he's right, but what's wrong with that?

Personally, I like the humor involved with his tirades against all that is unholy to him.  Though I'd like to see some new material, as I think he's run "no talent milkrunners" and "the idiotic perk system" into the ground.  Come on, lazs, you're a smart guy!  Give us some new catch phrases!   :)

Not to mention the guy is a damned good Hog flyer.  <S>  I bet if he found it fun to fly "safe and to live" he could rack up a phenomenal K/D ratio in the DHog.
