A couple of days ago I ended up in a T-34 (FH's down eny at 40 etc)...to face the invading horde...hustled out of dodge toward the spawn/town intersection area and got to a reasonable tree line without becoming A-20 food....tuck in the tree line and wait a few minutes for something to show up...
Low and behold a PZIV comes trundling over a crest toward the town...giving me an almost perfect "T" shot...drill him at ~1200 right under turret...get "flash" but no joy...as he manv around looking for me I wait for "gerbal load" to cycle on thru...tick tick tick as he finds me and turns nose on...as he crosses 1000 I'm good and unload another round into him...a second "flash" but still no joy...his 1st round clangs of my armour (from 800 or so) as he gathers speed I get a 3rd round of as he passes 400 or so..again a "flash" but no kill...his next shot takes out my turret and he parks 20 yds or so away and then needs 10 or more shots to kill me point blank from side....
1st, I'm a bit amazed that a T-34 cant pop a PZIV from 1200 on a dead side shot...2nd that 2 shots inside 1000 with 1 from 400 or less dont do the job...then that it takes 10+ rounds point blank from the PZ to finish me....please no more of this speed and deflection garbage..the 1st shot was a nuts on strike and the other 2 were head on into the drivers slit area...none bounced...all 3 "flashed" which I assume means penetration vs richochet...
So I'm curious what the ballistics are for our T-34. is there a t-34/76 and a t-34/76L? With sherman we have the 75 with some upgunned to 76mm (a much more powerful gun) is the t-34 we have the "short barreled" version?
