A little more obscure is the fact that the words "Sierra Madres" means "Yo momma"

Others include:

Ranier - Giant noodle
Shasta - Big soft drink
Whitney - "Dude, That sucker is tall!" in Arapaho

Near where I live there is "Squaw Flat"  I guess the pioneers saw something different here than those French trappers in Wyoming.
