Dead Is Dead

For quite a while I wonder if it would make sense to change some rules in this game. I know many people out there enjoy the great comfort of cruising over an enemy base with 20+ other guys and jumping all together on a single plane that is about to take off, also known as vulching.
What would happen if a rule kicks in that would not allow a pilot who was shot down to re-up from the very same base for about 15 or 20 minutes? Obviously many guys wouldn't like it because they would have to earn their kills much harder than just vulching. On the other hand it would force those guys to actually change their game plan and eventually start capturing bases, something essential to win a war. And might even have to start real one on one dog fights.
Also, the guy being shot down would have to go to another base to continue playing and naturally he would go to where he can expect some action, meaning to another front line eventually fighting another country. That might lead to a more balanced 2 border war. And for the vulchers they might re-think their attack because being shot down (by ack or a flack) would mean they have to go somewhere else unless they'd like to wait 15 minutes or so to re-up, because DEAD IS DEAD!!

Think the possibilitys through a bit further.

X country has double the numbers, and is rolling up the fields. You log in roll, get hit by a horde, try your best and die.

The nearest field is 3 sectors away, and its under attack also.

You can't stop their attack, because every time someone tries and dies, they are out of the fight for 20 minutes. Either because they can't respawn at all, or because they'd have to respawn at a field that far away.

So you'd get countrys steamroller smashing everything in their path.

Is that really what you want AH to be like?

Anytime your talking about changing a rule or setting you really need to explore every possible thing that could change. Every way that things could go wrong.

Thanks, but no thanks.

If I wanted to wait a long time between sorties I'd play WWIIOL.

Kaiser,
I'll start by saying "A kill is a kill". Vulching is a part of winning air superiority. I don't understand why people get upset when they are vulched. If you can't maintain the airspace over your base and the bad guys get over head that's what happens. It's war. I'm not going to wait and let an enemy aircraft off the deck to be sporting when my country is trying to take that base. On the other side, if I get vulched and the air is thick with badies then I move to the next closest base to keep from getting my rear-end shot off on the runway. That's just common sense. :aok

Perhaps you have not taken up an IL2 or Hurri2C and RAKED a guy in the face as he is trying to vulch you.  Then he starts whining on Chan. 200 as you go and kill the goon, thus saving the base at least for the time being.  My squad, especially my CO really enjoys upping at the capped fields.  Real good fun.
Who are you to wave your finger?

No one gets upset when you try to take a base.  Only when the only reason you took your D9 there was to vulch and run.

In anycase, this idea would kill game play.  As the deffenders and attackers die, the fornts will disapear.  The attackers would have to fly 2 sectors to find the dffenders that also had to fly 2 sectors to go mee them.  Any on that died, would have to fly 3 sectors.  And don;t tell me I can go to another field.  Do you have any idea how many times I die in 20 minutes :lol   The MA would be ampty within an hour of this implementation

Not to mention you would be uping from half a world away.

When I first went into the MA and got vulched I thought it was a low thing to do. But as I played more and and saw the overall objectives, I realized it's part of trying to capture the field.

If you can gain air superority over the field then you need to keep the enemy pinned down as your side brings in the buffs and troops.

Once you have the enemy on his heels dont let him up, keep him down. I bet ya is was like that in RL. Straf the field before the enemy could up thier fighters.

Am I wrong?
